7 Cruise Ships Docked at Turkish Ports in 437 Months

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, announced that the number of cruise ships docking at ports in the 7-month period of this year increased approximately 40 times and reached 437, and a total of 376 thousand 924 cruise passengers were hosted.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu announced the cruise ship statistics for the January-July period of 2022. Noting that only 2021 cruise ships docked at Turkish ports in the January-July period of 11, Karaismailoğlu stated that this number increased by 2022 times to 40 in the same period of 437.

KUŞADASI PORT SERVES HALF OF THE CROSSIA SHIPS

Karaismailoğlu said, “In the 7-month period, Kuşadası became the port where the most ships docked, serving half of all cruise ships coming to our country with 220 cruise ships. Kusadasi; Istanbul Galataport followed with 79 ships. Bodrum Port, on the other hand, took the third place with 45 ships.

376 thousand 924 passengers were hosted

Pointing out that a total of 376 thousand 924 cruise passengers were hosted in the same period, Karaismailoğlu stated that 25 thousand 739 of them were inbound passengers, 34 thousand 997 outgoing passengers and 316 thousand 188 transit passengers. Expressing that the highest passenger traffic is experienced in Kuşadası Port with 212 thousand 486 passengers, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu pointed out that this port is followed by Istanbul Galataport with 98 thousand 33 passengers and Bodrum Port with 28 thousand 629 passengers.

MOST SHIPS berthed in May

Looking at the distribution of cruise traffic by months, Karaismailoğlu underlined that this year, with 136 ships, the most ships approached the ports in May, adding, “Passenger traffic was 122 thousand 115 with 907 cruise ships in June. In July, 120 cruise ships docked at Turkish ports. While 10 thousand 707 passengers arrived at Turkish ports in July, 13 thousand 478 passengers departed. It was determined that 96 thousand 922 passengers made a transit pass. Total passenger traffic in July was 121," he said.
