The opening of the 56th Islamic Solidarity Games, hosted by Konya and attended by 4 athletes from 200 countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At the opening, which was the scene of a magnificent visual feast that will not be forgotten for a long time, at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium, messages of brotherhood were given from Konya to the whole world.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony held at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium; President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal al Saud, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Algeria Eymen bin Abdurrahman, Prime Minister of Palestine Muhammed Shtiyye, Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Hüseyin İbrahim Taha, sports ministers of countries, federation presidents, athletes, many protocol members and citizens.
THE OPENING WAS THE STAGE OF A WONDERFUL VISUAL FEAST
Before the ceremony, which offers a magnificent visual feast that will not be forgotten for a long time, sports fans followed the demonstration flight of the Turkish Air Force's aerobatic team Turkish Stars with interest. The beauties of Turkey and the choreographies of the Turkish flag on the field floor received great applause. Various choreographies were staged at the opening, which included eye-catching light and fireworks displays. In the night, where the folk dance show also attracted great attention, the most admired show was the Mevlana silhouette made with drones. Maher Zain, one of the important musicians of the Islamic world, gave a concert before the opening ceremony of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games.
PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN OPENED THE GAMES
Watching the parade of teams from 56 countries, President Erdoğan followed the parade of athletes who will represent Turkey standing up. Citizens who filled the stadium welcomed 461 Turkish athletes with great enthusiasm. At the opening of the organization, which was followed with interest by the President of the World Union of Municipalities and the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, fraternity messages were given from Konya from all over the world.
President Erdoğan opened the games with basmala. Erdogan, “5. I am starting Islamic Solidarity Games sports activities. On behalf of myself and my nation, I congratulate all those who contributed. Good luck, good luck." used his statements.

Speaking at the opening, Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu stated that sports have very important meanings and said: “I hope we will put our signature under an organization that will be worthy not only of our city and country, but also of the entire Islamic world. We know that international sports organizations have meanings beyond just being a sporting event. The unifying power of sports comes to the fore more in such organizations. It contributes to the development of bonds and brotherhood between our countries. Because the earth today longs for peace and well-being, for peace and for protecting each other's law in fraternity. We would like to announce once again from Konya, the homeland of love and tolerance, the city of Mevlana, the representative of tolerance, that Islam, the religion of life, is synonymous with peace and well-being. Games also draw their inspiration and light from this universal blessed call of Islam, which invites peace and brotherhood.”

Explaining that they worked with great effort and enthusiasm to organize the games, Kasapoğlu said, “We brought magnificent works to our Konya and our country, which will be used both during the games and to serve the athletes of our country and the world after the games. We are proud of being able to show the competence of Islamic countries in the field of sports organizations to the whole world. Hopefully, as a result of all these efforts, Konya 2021 will be an unforgettable sports festival. You, our esteemed guests coming to Turkey from different countries of the world, will hopefully leave our country with memories that you will remember with happiness for a lifetime.” he said.

Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stated that it is important for Islamic countries to come together and said, "Such organizations play an important role in the solidarity and coming together of Islamic countries, meeting and mingling of people. Likewise, as a proof of the youth of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and their commitment to the advancement of sports, we have taken an important step in bringing people in the Islamic geography together and reinforcing Islamic values. I congratulate Turkey, which brought together 4 athletes here, and thank it for organizing this event, which is considered one of the most important sports events in the world, as it is a concrete example of Islamic solidarity.” made the statement.

In his speech, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal al Saud, President of the International Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) and Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia, said, “Today, we are meeting under a single flag, around a great goal, perpetual brotherhood. Because there is no higher religion than Islam and there is no better religion than peace. Because Islam encouraged sports from its early years, supported people in swimming, shooting and horse riding, and guided them in some way to do these sports. Every athlete participating in this great meeting will reveal the clean face of real competition and the great sports values they have. Thank you to those who contributed to the organization. I wish good luck and success to all the participating athletes.” he said.
The organization, attended by 56 athletes from 4 countries, members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, will end with the closing program to be held on August 200.
