Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that a total of 4 million 78 thousand vehicles passed through the Nissibi Bridge, which uninterruptedly connects the Eastern Anatolia Region and the Southeastern Anatolia Region, and said, “The travel time with the bridge has been shortened by one and a half hours compared to the ferry. 84,3 million TL was saved annually.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement about the Nissibi Bridge, which connects Adıyaman and Diyarbakır. Karaismailoğlu stated that investments are continuing all over Turkey and that they have increased 311 kilometers of bridges and viaducts to 730 kilometers, and noted that one of these investments is the Nissibi Bridge. Reminding that the bridge was built in the section where the Adıyaman-Kahta-Siverek-Diyarbakır State Road, which connects Adıyaman and Diyarbakır, cuts the Atatürk Dam Lake, at the point where land transportation was interrupted by the dam's impoundment, Karaismailoğlu said that the Nissibi Bridge was put into service on May 21, 2015. stated.

TRANSPORTATION TIME SHORTENED 1,5 HOURS BY BRIDGE

Karaismailoğlu stated that the bridge, which is 610 meters long, provides fast, comfortable and safe transportation, said, “The Nissibi Bridge is among the first bridges to be implemented in our country with the tensioned oblique cable suspension method. With the construction of the bridge, the Eastern Anatolia Region and the Southeastern Anatolia Region were uninterruptedly connected through the provinces of Adıyaman and Diyarbakır. There was a shortening of approximately one and a half hours in travel time compared to the time of transportation by ferry. In addition, the distance of Diyarbakır to the western provinces and Adıyaman to the eastern provinces has been shortened by 40 kilometers.

Noting that 4 million 78 thousand vehicles have passed through the bridge since the day it was opened, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu emphasized that 26,3 million TL of time, 58 million TL from fuel oil, a total of 84,3 million TL savings were achieved, and carbon emissions were reduced by 11 thousand 755 tons.
