Tranquil Canoe Turkey Championship Held in Eskişehir Takes Your Breaths

The “Sluggish Canoe Turkey Championship” held in Eskişehir with the cooperation of the Turkish Canoe Federation and the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality witnessed great excitement. After the breathtaking races, the winning teams and athletes received their awards at a ceremony. Mehmet Ali Duman, an athlete from Eskişehir Metropolitan Youth and Sports Club, became the champion in the C1 category and became the 2nd in Turkey as a team.

Eskişehir Durgunsu Canoe Turkey Championship, which is included in the 2022 program of the Turkish Canoe Federation, was completed with 1000, 500 and 200 meter races in the categories of “Growns, Juniors, Stars, Juniors, Mini-Kids Men and Women”.

14 clubs and 29 athletes from 265 provinces competed for medals in the championship in Sarısungur Pond, which was realized by the Metropolitan Municipality in Mamuca, Odunpazarı district, and also has an olympic canoe track and automatic exit system.

The people of Eskişehir, who came to Sarısungur Pond with bus ring services and private vehicles for the championship, which witnessed fierce struggles for 3 days, followed this special excitement closely.

While the 1st day of the championship was completed with 1000 meters qualifying and final races, 2 meters qualifying and final races were held on the 500nd day, and 3 meters elimination and final races were held on the 200rd day.

After the races, which witnessed a great struggle, the athletes and teams that reached the championship were given their awards in a ceremony.

Eskişehir Metropolitan Youth and Sports Club athlete Mehmet Ali Duman became the champion in the C1 category in the 200 meters and 500 meters at the Turkish Championship. Eskişehir Metropolitan Youth and Sports Club came second in Turkey in the big men's category as a team.

The athletes participating in the races thanked Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality for hosting them and said, “We had an excellent championship with everything, both before and after the race, as well as the facilities.
