İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center General Assembly (UKOME), İzmir Water and Sewerage Administration (İZSU) and Electric Water Gas Bus and Trolleybus (ESHOT) decided to connect the hike rates to PPI. When the PPI hike applied to transportation fees was withdrawn in line with the court decision, the tariffs returned to the settings applied before the PPI decision.
As of today, public transportation fees have been reduced in Izmir. Bus, metro, ferry and tram full boarding fees in the central districts have been reduced from 7,10 TL to 6,50 TL, and student ticket fees from 2,40 TL to 2,20 TL.
Producer Price Index (PPI) hike applied to transportation fees in İzmir has been withdrawn. While the full fee for the first boarding was 6,50, it was stated that within 120 minutes, the first transfer was 1 TL, the second transfer was 1,20 TL, and the third and later transfers were included in the entire price. Student ticket fees, which were 2 TL, became 0,90 TL. According to the decision, teacher and age 3 card fees were determined as 2,40 lira and 2,20 kuruş.
