China's 24 TEU container ship, the world's largest, was delivered today at a signing ceremony at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
The ship, whose independent intellectual property rights belong to Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company, will be classified by the American Maritime Bureau (ABS) and will serve on the route from the Far East to Europe.
With a length of 399 meters, the ship is more than 99 meters longer than the largest existing aircraft carrier in the world.
With a width of 61,5 meters, the deck area of the ship reached 24 thousand square meters.
The ship, which can carry 240 thousand tons of cargo, can load more than 24 thousand standard containers at once. The ship is currently the largest container ship in the world.
