The "Women Friendly City Gaziantep" mobile application, which was implemented by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality for women from Gaziantep to take a more active role in the city, was launched.
Explaining the details of the application at the launch held at the Erikçe Culinary Arts Center, President Fatma Şahin later downloaded the “Women Friendly City Gaziantep” application with the famous singer Demet Akalın and the participants.
In the continuation of the program, a tree was planted in the name of each female user who downloaded the application in the tree planting event of the Woman Friendly City Gaziantep Memorial Forest. In addition, every female user earned 500 stars on the first day of the application's launch.
In his speech, Mayor Şahin stated that they want to create a greener and more nature-friendly city with this application and said, “The application informs our women about environmental protection, energy saving and zero waste, and then earns star points for female members who separate the wastes and deliver them to the municipality. Thus, each of our women becomes our environmental protection ambassador with this practice. When you collect those wastes and bring them to us, we both give you stars and give you a gift as much as your star. Both nature and our women win.” used the phrase.

Explaining that female users can follow municipal services closely thanks to this application, Şahin said, “Our women will be able to participate more actively in social life. They will learn about various subjects. They will be able to benefit from campaigns and gifts specially prepared for women. With this mobile application, we also aim to raise awareness to create a greener and more environmentally friendly city. Only female users are included in this application. Must reside in Gaziantep and must be 17 years old. Those who download the application are given 2 GB of internet and 6 rides valid for all times. We also plant trees for each user in the application. We instantly inform each user about concerts and events.” she said.
EACH FEMALE USER WILL HAVE A VOICE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CITY
Noting that every woman user is the decision maker in the city's administration, Mayor Fatma Şahin said:
“We are preparing surveys in which the opinions of you, our women, will be actively included in the application. One of the useful works available in the application is the 'Plans' section. All our facilities are free for you, our women. In addition, you can see the KADES application, an important application developed against violence against women, in the Women Friendly City application. We signed protocols with 79 companies within the scope of the Women Friendly City Gaziantep application. The more stars the user collects, the more discounts they can get. 79 companies will make discounts of nearly 40 percent to users. In addition, many gifts such as computers, refrigerators, washing machines, treadmills can be won with the stars earned. In addition, there are sightseeing tours among the gifts. You are given the opportunity to visit cities such as Konya, Şanlıurfa and Mardin. This application has everything about women. Education, art, employment, health, sports and law are the main lines of the application. This software will be at your disposal to serve you in whatever field you want.”
Famous singer Demet Akalın, on the other hand, expressed that she was excited to be here for the "Women Friendly City Gaziantep" application and said, "I hope this application, which is special to Gaziantep, will spread to all provinces of Turkey as soon as possible. On the other hand, the winners of the 2nd Traditional Mother-Daughter Voice Competition, organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, as part of the Mother's Day activities at the launch, received their awards.
THROUGH THE APPLICATION, WOMEN WILL HAVE INFORMATION AND BENEFIT FROM SPECIAL DISCOUNTS
With the "Beautify My Neighborhood" section in the application available on the App Store and Google Play stores, it will be able to inform the municipality about the issues that women see as a problem in their neighborhoods. In addition, after the notification, they will have the opportunity to follow the result through the application.
Users are informed about the activities and works of the municipality on the topics of "Women and Health", "Women and Education", "Women and Agriculture", "Women and Employment", "Women and Law", "Women and Art", "Women and Sports". will be able to see the work done.
Users will also be able to get information from the "Gaziantep by Season", "A Meal Every Day", "Places to Visit in Our City", "Gaziantep City of Museums" sections in the application. Thanks to the Facilities section, women will be able to easily access information about the address, location information, telephone and features of the facilities affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality.
