Since there will be a significant increase in animal movements due to Eid al-Adha, the principles to be followed have been determined in order to achieve the desired result in the fight against infectious and epidemic animal diseases, to prevent illegal animal movements, and especially to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease due to domestic animal movements.

While our citizens fulfill their religious obligations, in order to prevent the transmission and spread of a possible disease through sacrificial animal sales places and inter-provincial animal shipments;

Under no circumstances will it be allowed to ship, sell or slaughter animals that have epidemic or contagious animal disease in their origin, that are not registered, that do not have ear tags and that do not have a passport for bovine animals and a transport document for sheep and goats.

Vehicles to be used in the transportation of sacrificial animals will be cleaned and disinfected before and after transportation.
The transport of animals by means of transport which may cause them to overload the transport vehicles, cause injury or unnecessary pain and suffering during transport shall not be permitted.

Official veterinarians will examine and check the animals that will be sent as sacrifice, and a veterinary health report will be issued for animals that are found to be healthy, and their transportation between provinces will be allowed. Administrative fines will be applied to the owners of animals and vehicles who transport animals between provinces without a veterinary health report, and to the owners of the slaughterhouse where these animals are slaughtered.

When an infectious, epidemic disease or animal death of unknown cause is seen in the sacrificial animal sales places; animal owners, headmen, village guards, officers such as police, gendarmerie and free veterinarians will report this situation to the local administrative chief or the Provincial or District Directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Sacrificial animals, excluding direct sales from livestock enterprises; In addition to the animal market and live animal exchange, the sacrificial animals will be bought and sold at the places where the sacrificial animals are sold and in the enterprises where the sacrifice will be made in line with the decisions taken by the Sacrifice Services Commissions. The purchase and sale of sacrificial animals will not be allowed outside of such predetermined places.

Our citizens will slaughter their sacrificial animals in cities and towns in slaughterhouses that have received a conditional approval/approval from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and in the slaughtering places previously determined by the Sacrifice Services Commission. Sacrificial animal slaughter will not be allowed in public areas such as streets, streets and parks.

Necessary measures will be taken to prevent waste, blood and other organs from causing any environmental pollution or diseases in the sacrificial slaughtering areas.

Ear tags of sacrificial cattle and sheep and goats slaughtered in the slaughterhouses will be destroyed in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the slaughtered animals will be deducted from the database, the passports of the cattle animals will be submitted to the nearest Provincial/District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for seven days from the slaughter date. It will be delivered within the day.
Ear tags and passports of sacrificial animals that will be slaughtered outside of the places determined by the commission and in villages will be delivered to the village headman or Provincial/District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry by our citizens.

Pregnant or breeding female animals will not be allowed to enter the sacrificial animal sales places and slaughter them as sacrificial animals.

In order for our citizens not to become victims, they must fulfill the above-mentioned conditions completely.

Action will be taken against those who do not fulfill the obligations stated above and those who do not comply with the prohibitions and restrictions, in accordance with the provisions of the Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law No. 5996.
