Members of the ANAHTAR Women's Theater Group, which continues its activities at the ANAHTAR Women's Studies Holistic Service Center established within the body of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, were given certificates of appreciation for their work. In the program, a sunflower puzzle was presented to President Soyer's wife, Neptün Soyer. The ensemble, which took the stage for the first time on March 8, International Women's Day, will stage the play “Women's Tales” on June 23 at Çiğli Fakir Baykurt Cultural Center.

Karşıyaka Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the ceremony held at the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Campus Conference Hall in Ornekkoy. Tunç Soyer's wife Neptün Soyer, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Council Member and Gender Equality Commission President Nilay Kökkılınç, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department Head Mehmet Anıl Kaçar, Women's Studies Branch Manager Sinem Tankoç and members of the theater group joined.
“President Soyer leads women to meet with art”
Speaking at the program, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Gender Equality Commission President Nilay Kökkılınç said, “Theater is one of the most effective branches of art in raising awareness of the society. It presents us the beauties as well as the distortions and disorders in the social order in the simplest way. Our Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who always supports art and artists Tunç Soyer, pioneers many activities that enable women to meet with art at the Örnekköy ANAHTAR Women's Studies Center, which was opened to serve women during their service period. Theater art is one of them. The famous thinker Thomas Moore says that the fate of people who do not enjoy the beauty of nature, thought, poetry and music will be bitter. Indeed, art is one of the ways in which society is free from violence. “I am also heading towards you”
A sunflower puzzle was presented to Neptune Soyer by the members of the theater group. Presenting the gift on behalf of the actors, Derya Mete said, “We wanted to give this gift because we think this picture completes you and us. Sunflowers are women and this light is you. We thought that we can build a stronger world with the light you emit.” Neptune Soyer said, “Thank you very much. You said great things. As Günebakan, I also turn to you.”
“Tunç President is indispensable for us”
Theater trainer and director Vedat Murat Güzel said, “The idea of starting a women's theater in this beautiful center with the artistic vision of our Tunç President 7 months ago got me very excited. Tunç SoyerIt was a great honor to know that one of the many beauties that 's success in Seferihisar will grow again here, in Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. We started our work with this joy. When we worked with a president with a vision in a small town like Seferihisar, we saw how success came. Engagement and awareness increased. Awards came, documentaries were shot, books were written. In all this success, there is a valuable president who understands women, art, production and children. Tunç President is indispensable for us. It is good,” he said.
“So glad our paths crossed”
KEY Women's Theater Ensemble actress gift Uyanıktürk said, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our President Tunç, who gave us this opportunity, and to Ms. Neptün, who was always there for us. I would also like to thank our mother Güneş, who is the mother of our Tunç President and the mother of all of us. We know that Tunç President and Neptün Hanım met in a theater at Ege University and decided to get married. Good thing we have such a theater-loving president,” she said. Emphasizing that he mediated the integration of the group with each other, Uyanıktürk said, “We became a family, a very good team. Glad our paths crossed,” she said. The ceremony, in which the theater and slide show were shown, ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the members, cake cutting and a group photo shoot after the speeches.
Key Women's Theater Company
In order to create an opportunity for women to come together and express themselves through art, a women's theater group was established within the body of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Cigli, Karşıyaka ANAHTAR Women's Theater Group, which includes 25 women from Balçova and Balçova, gave its first performance as part of the 8 March International Women's Day events. The first screening of the ensemble's play "Women's Tales" will be held on June 23 at Çiğli Fakir Baykurt Cultural Center. In the context of gender equality, “strengthening group work” is also carried out with the women participating in the workshop. Trainings are also given under the titles of Women's Human Rights, Women's Health/Sexual Health, Mechanisms for Combating Violence and Legal Legislation, Communication and Life Skills. The women, whose transportation to the center is provided with the vehicle support provided by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, do their theater work and rehearsals at the ANAHTAR Women's Studies Holistic Service Center.
