Aegean Young Businessmen Association, which includes important names of the Izmir business world and is an important guide in the working route of the association (EGİAD) Advisory Board met physically after a long break after the pandemic process. It is one of the most effective boards of the region where the problems of both the city and the country are discussed. EGİAD Chairman of the Advisory Board Mahmut Özgener stated that they aim to make İzmir the center of entrepreneurship. Stating that they are one step closer to this goal with the IzQ Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, Özgener continued his words as follows: “We will launch our Digital Experience Center in November. In addition, we continue our efforts to bring a new campus to our Izmir University of Economics. We organized the İzmir University of Economics Güzelbahçe Campus Architectural Project Competition for a campus that would suit our city. With this competition, the results of which we have just announced, we aim to strengthen the position of our university among the important universities of our country and increase its preference in the international arena.”
EGİAD Became an Exemplary Institution in the Pandemic
who later spoke EGİAD President Alp Avni Yelkenbiçer, on the other hand, stated that they are happy to be able to hold the meeting face-to-face again, which has been held online since December 2019 due to the Pandemic, and said, “Of course, it is more enjoyable and more productive to hold our meeting face-to-face. Glad we were able to adapt. Both individuals and our institutions have made the transformation required by the epidemic period. Let alone growth and empowerment, even preserving was an ambitious goal. As you will see in our annual report, I proudly say that EGİAD successfully passed this ordeal. Not only did he "defend the line", he also expanded the "surface". Not only did our association work efficiently, it provided examples not only to its members but also to its stakeholders on how to act in this period, and shared information with them. In other words, he fulfilled the pioneering and dynamic mission of being a young business person. We were very happy with the praise we received that we were one of the most active non-governmental organizations in 2021 and 22. But there is also the kitchen. What made this possible was to move forward together, arm in arm, as we promised at the beginning of the term.
We Based on Sustainability in Joint Projects with Our Members
EGİAD Reminding that “sustainability” is at the beginning of the term theme, Yelkenbiçer stated that they were able to realize sustainability in working with common synergy and said, “Keeping the common goals that bring us together, conveying the meaning and purpose of our work to all our members with both accurate and intense communication, a sense of belonging to our association. We thought that we could only establish a sustainable order by keeping the feeling of success and belief in success at the highest level. We continue to work for this cause every day. The challenge we faced in terms of sustainability was as follows: At the beginning of the term, we realized that of the approximately 350 active members we have, 4 will be honorary in the next 75 years. When we look at the past period, I can say that this number is 20. In short, there is a generational change in our association. Thanks to the positive results of our work, we left every meeting we attended, every presentation we made, with candidate members. I would like to express with pleasure that thanks to these participations, we have regained 35, almost half of the number of members we would lose. The enthusiasm and excitement of our new friends who joined us gave us great strength. EGİAD In this period, as I have said before, we will have realized a “generational change” in the full sense of the word. I would like to underline “diversity” as one of the factors that make us most happy at the point we have arrived at. Not a one-dimensional, one-sided organization EGİAD: While we are working on business life and trade, we do not neglect to express our views on the economic situation. While we are in intense connection with abroad and building new bridges in the international arena, we are also creating brand new and strong connections at the local level.”

EGİAD as Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Digitalization, EGİAD Yelkenbiçer, who conveyed what he determined as the future, summarized the activities carried out numerically as follows: “10 International Activities, 6 Sustainability, 4 EGİAD A total of 13 activities were carried out with Future Meetings, 6 Seminars and Talks, 13 Life School Events, 31 Business Development Activities and Cooperation, 22 Angel Investors and Entrepreneurs Meetings, 3 Angel Investments, more than 3.5 Entrepreneur Evaluations, and an investment of 91 million dollars. All of our events were covered by 2 news items in the press," he said.
