Russian State Atomic Energy Agency ROSATOM and AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş., IV. Nuclear Power Plants Fair and VIII. Attended Nuclear Power Plants Summit NPPES-2022. In NPPES-2022, which is the largest business platform in the field of nuclear technology and industry in the Middle East and North Africa region, AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. representatives presented the most up-to-date information on the implementation of the construction project of Turkey's first nuclear power plant. On the first day of the forum, AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. Production and Construction Organization Director Denis Sezemin shared the developments regarding the construction of each power unit and answered the questions of the journalists.

Speaking at the NPPES-2022 opening ceremony, AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. Anton Dedusenko, Vice Chairman of the Board, said: “Nuclear energy has made remarkable progress since 2018, when we held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS). During this time, foundations were laid for 24 NPP units around the world, half of which are being built by Rosatom companies. Nuclear energy has seen the long-awaited value as an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy source. The Akkuyu NPP project is making a wide-ranging positive impact in Turkey. The project is one of the largest foreign direct investments that will bring tens of billions of dollars to the Turkish economy. In addition, the project contributes to the increase of the population in the region and the development of employment, infrastructure and many areas of social life. Akkuyu NPP project has gained a great momentum at this stage. More than 20 people work in the field every day, and this brings us closer to achieving Turkey's most important goal, which is to bring sustainable nuclear energy to the country.”

Within the scope of the summit, ROSATOM and AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş., the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency, TITAN2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT A.Ş., the main contractor of Akkuyu NPP. organized a seminar for potential project suppliers with a joint venture. At the event, speakers shared information on Rosatom's purchasing system, the localization of orders in the Republic of Turkey, and practical examples of working with Turkish companies. Akkuyu NPP, Turkey's first nuclear power plant, is attracting more and more potential suppliers every day. The summit is important as it provides potential suppliers with the opportunity to ask questions about procurement for Akkuyu NPP.

Representatives of more than 2022 Turkish and foreign supplier companies and nuclear industry enterprises attended the two-day NPPES-200 Summit. The extensive program of the seminar made it possible to address a large number of participants and answer practical questions from potential project suppliers. Approximately 100 company representatives who attended the seminar had the opportunity to participate in the bilateral B2B format meetings with procurement experts from AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş and TITAN2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT A.Ş.

At the NPPES-2022 Fair, Russian State Atomic Energy Agency ROSATOM and AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. took place. This year, the stand was decorated with pictures made by the children of NGS employees who visited and toured the Akkuyu NPP site, which is still under construction. With this image, the role of Akkuyu NPP as the basis of clean energy generation in Turkey's future was emphasized. In a specially reserved section at the stand, visitors used their imaginations to express their thoughts on nuclear energy in Turkey with pictures. Next to the stand, there was also a photography area where visitors could take pictures of themselves as a construction crane operator or someone who worked at the first nuclear power plant in Turkey.

At the stand, visitors were able to learn about Rosatom's activities and the company's international projects using the multilingual touch panel. Experts from Rosatom and AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. informed the guests about the technological solutions, security systems features and the progress of the project, including the VVER-1200 3+ generation reactor technology used in the Akkuyu NPP project.

In the NPPES-2022 Fair, stands of companies from Turkey, Spain, Germany, Italy, China, South Korea, Hungary and many more took place. The NPPES-2022 Summit hosted approximately 2 participants and guests in total.

Fikret Özgümüş, General Manager, Aqua Shine Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems, Turkey: “AKA SU has served itself in Turkey's first Nuclear Power Plant with its experience in the projects it has participated in in Turkey and around the world, and especially in thermal, natural gas, biogas, wind and hydroelectric power plants. has set a goal of giving Our company achieved this goal by winning the tender for the manufacture and supply of tanks to be used for the treatment systems and chemical storage of other units, organized for the construction of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. In addition, our company completely undertakes the construction and manufacturing documentation for the supply of our products. At this stage, the approval process of the documents continues, and then we will start production.”

Onur Bizimtuna, Key Account Manager, Dalgakıran Compressor, Turkey: “Not all industrial establishments in Turkey are fully prepared to be suppliers of the nuclear industry. But gradually we adapt to work according to international and Russian standards. Meetings in B2B format have been very beneficial for us, we attach particular importance to this format. In such meetings, we get detailed information on what issues we should focus on and how we should best prepare for the tender procedures.”
