Earthquake Drill That Doesn't Look Like Reality From TransportationPark

The response exercises in disaster and emergency situations, which were jointly organized by TransportationPark, one of the affiliates of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, and the Metropolitan Fire Department and Patient Transport and Ambulance Unit, at the General Directorate of TransportationPark, did not look like the truth.

EARTHQUAKE SCENARIO IS IMPLEMENTED

According to the information received by AFAD in the scenario realized, it was learned that there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4. In the earthquake, all TransportationPark employees applied the collapse, trap and hold rule. With the end of the earthquake, they went to the assembly areas and took a roll call. It was noticed that one person was missing during the roll call. Just at this time, the tram that entered the warehouse area became a derailment (derailment) and an employee was under the tram. Ambulance and fire brigade were called immediately and urgent help was requested.

THE EVENT CAME TO THE SHORT IN A SHORT TIME

Ambulance and fire brigade came to the scene in a short time and started to intervene immediately. The employee, who had fainted in the building due to the earthquake, was promptly intervened and lowered to the ambulance with the help of a stretcher. On the other hand, the fire crews intervened in the tram that was derailed. Firefighters rescued the TransportationPark employee, who was under the tram, and delivered them to the ambulance crews and took the tram back on track.

EMERGENCY CRISIS CENTER

In the emergency crisis center created; All vital tasks such as directing the relevant persons, checks to be made (counting), establishing communication with 112 were carried out. Teleconference meetings were held with the employees, security, ambulance and fire brigade inside. In addition, the team was directed to close the water, electricity and gas valves in the building. When the exercise was over, information was transferred to the metropolitan managers.
