Under the leadership of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Defense Industry Presidency (SSB), STM Defense Technologies and Engineering Inc., which plays an important role in Turkey's defense industry move, performs the tasks of "developing the industrial infrastructure for the design and construction of war submarines with national means" given to it on the subject of submarines. successfully, took a historic step in Turkey's national submarine production adventure.
The durable hull test production of the STM500 submarine, which was designed by STM engineers entirely with national resources, was started. In this context, the durable hull of a war submarine will be produced for the first time in the civil industry in Turkey. The domestic and national STM500 submarine, which was designed by considering the needs of friendly and brotherly countries, has extremely modern features.

The STM500 is designed to operate in both open sea and shallow waters. The STM500 will be equipped with advanced and modern warfare systems, which will contain equipment that will meet tactical needs such as reconnaissance and surveillance, special forces operations, and submarine warfare.

Continuous duty for 30 days
The small-sized national submarine STM500, the work of Turkish engineers, is designed to be able to operate both in shallow waters and in open sea conditions. The STM500, which will contain equipment that will meet global tactical needs such as reconnaissance and surveillance, special forces operations, and submarine warfare, will be equipped with advanced and modern warfare systems. The STM500 will be able to perform all kinds of missions for 18 days with its 8-person special forces team in addition to its 30-person crew. The platform will have a total of 4 heavy torpedo and guided missile firing power with 8 ready-to-fire torpedo tubes.
Negotiations continue for the STM500, which attracts attention abroad. Turkey continues to work in submarine technologies, which is a strategic field, as well as in aviation and space technologies, with the leadership of STM and the participation of domestic industry.
