The end date of the High Speed Train (YHT), which Samsun has been waiting for years, has changed again. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure aims to put the Merzifon-Samsun line of the Samsun-Ankara high-speed train into service between 2026-2035.
For the Samsun-Ankara high-speed train, the words "starts, starts, ends" given in the past years, it was disappointing that this project was included in the scope of 2053 Vision projects of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The people of Samsun, who have been waiting for the high-speed train-high-speed train for years, were shocked by the information that the Merzifon-Samsun line will be implemented in 2053-2026 among the 2035 Vision projects announced by the ministry. Nuri Seven, President of Our Love Samsun Platform, said in a statement: “It has been announced that the high-speed train project, which will be established between Samsun and Ankara and is thought to reduce the journey in 2 hours, is planned to be completed in 2053. In the statements made in the past years, it was stated that the high-speed train would start its flights in 2023. We were surprised to see that the date was set as 2053. We cannot understand why the work that has been going on for years is taking so long.”
Nuri Seven noted that the High Speed Train investment expected by Samsun should be completed at an earlier date, and stated that inconsistent statements about the project drag citizens into distrust.
