IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluHe listened to the progress of the projects in Silivri Seymen Village, which they started to renovate from top to bottom with the 'Example Village' project, together with the citizens in the village square, from their staff. Reminding that the construction of a waste facility started in Seymen Village during the previous IMM administration, İmamoğlu said, “This was not the fate of Istanbul in Silivri. This changed overnight. Those who used to think of Istanbul, those who moved, sat, worked, talked, said; 'Settlement is less in the north, get a waste facility there. Then let's turn them into incinerators. Waste very little.' All these have been tried; It was also accepted in 2009. But someone came out and said, 'I know everything'. We are trying to correct the mistakes made in the past,” he said.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlumet with the citizens in the Seymen Village of Silivri, which they declared as “Exemplary Village”. Silivri Mayor Volkan Yılmaz and Seymen Village Headman Bahattin Gença accompanied İmamoğlu at the meeting held in the village square. In the meeting, respectively; İBB Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Alpay, İBB Cultural Heritage Projects Manager Merve Gedik, Head of Cemeteries Department Ayhan Koç, Head of Support Services Department Barış Yıldız, Head of Agricultural Services Department Ahmet Atalık, İSTAÇ General Manager Ziya Gökmen Togay, İstanbul Enerji A.Ş. General Manager Yüksel Yalçın and Kültür A.Ş. General Manager Murat Abbas shared the works related to IMM projects in Seymen Village.

“ SOMEONE SAID 'I KNOW EVERYTHING'”

Listening to the information coming from the staff of Seymen Village, İmamoğlu said, “We have an understanding that opposes the issue of getting these villages their due, an understanding that sees the villages only as zoning areas.” Pointing out that they are working to bring the villages, especially agriculture, to the value they deserve, İmamoğlu said:

“Why was this waste storage facility built here, why did it happen? I won't go into those details. But if choices are made on such junk food, the fate of a region can change or worsen all of a sudden. This was not the fate of Istanbul drawn to Silivri. This changed overnight. It was taken overnight, 'Garbage work here, here is another airport there' or something. A destiny has changed. Those who used to think of Istanbul, those who moved, sat, worked, talked, said; 'Settlement is less in the north, get a waste facility there. Then let's turn them into incinerators. Waste very little.' All these have been tried; It was also accepted in 2009. That's not very old. It was accepted 13 years ago. But someone came out and said, 'I know everything'. 'You wouldn't understand this. You tried, but you wouldn't understand this business,' he said. He bought it after that, and it capsized. Today, the fate of Istanbul has changed.”

"WE ARE TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR FATE"

Emphasizing that they are trying to correct the mistakes made in the past, İmamoğlu said, “We can't just fix all the mistakes. Because it happened. We are trying to change your destiny. When I first came here, two influences led me to this process. Yes. We need to pay special attention to the towns or villages or the locality that has a disadvantage. This is the first. Which is affected by this waste plant. Secondly, for the development of the villages, we need to transfer good works there. In this sense, when I came to this waste facility, I said, 'We need to eliminate this disadvantage here and carry out an example village study'. Of course, Istanbul has many priorities. But we are making a special effort to this issue as well,” he said. Pointing out that they carried out similar works in Pendik Göçbeyli Village, İmamoğlu said, "Now, my friends have just talked about the culture to the square, from the road to the street, from our mosque to the restoration of an area here, its transformation into a cultural area, and so on."

"SCHOOL" HOLY IN THE VILLAGE OF SİLİVRİ

İmamoğlu warned his colleagues to complete the work before the given deadlines towards autumn, Silivri Mayor Volkan Yılmaz and the villagers criticized the "transported education system" and said, "Do you know what this transportation system did? I was in Van. Girls no longer read. Because families do not send their daughters to the transport system. The people there told me that. For years, we said, 'Remove this transport system, look, this is not a good thing'. On-site training is good. Plus, having an education somewhere also triggers staying there. Having a teacher means that the teacher brings a culture there. It has many interactions. Here again, reasonably lucky. We are around Istanbul. Believe me, many towns in Anatolia suffer the cost of this”. Imamoglu, the words of the villagers, "We are also suffering," said, "I hope they will give up this evil. We cannot decide whether to open schools. National Education does it. Go to National Education, have a little girl. If they do not, we will send them next year, we will give it. Don't worry. We will send them to you next year. We will restore that right to our villages. Have no doubts,” he replied.

YILMAZ: “WE SUPPORT THE EXAMPLE VILLAGE PROJECT”

Silivri Mayor Yılmaz said, “We hosted Ekrem Mayor in Silivri many times. But today, I would like to start my words by expressing that I am more than happy to host you in Seymen Village. Because before I took office and after I took office, I said this: Silivri is not just about its center, beach and market square. It is a district that adds value to it with its villages and that should be considered as a whole with its neighborhoods. We fully support the 'Example Village' project. We think that it should accelerate, but I express that İSTAÇ should fulfill its duties more than enough - by making up for the past ones - and I thank the President. Seymen Headman Gença also thanked İmamoğlu for his services to their village.

"WHEAT" THANKS FROM THE FARMERS

İmamoğlu, Yılmaz and their delegation visited Metin Oral, who is a farmer in Gazitepe Village, after the village of Seymen. Expressing his thanks to İmamoğlu for the animal feed and seedling support he received from İBB, Oral expressed his satisfaction with the decision to purchase wheat from the villages of Istanbul for Halk Ekmek. İmamoğlu concluded his Silivri tour with a Selimpaşa interchange inspection tour and a visit to Istanbul, our Selimpaşa Home.
