President of the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB) Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir participated in the launching of the SANCAR Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SİDA), developed in cooperation with Yonca-Onuk Shipyard and Havelsan.

Turkish Defense Industry continues to develop new products in order to increase the effectiveness of the security forces in the defense of the Blue Homeland. The launching of Sancar SİDA, developed for the Naval Forces Command, was carried out by SSB President Prof. Dr. It was held with the participation of İsmail Demir. At the ceremony held at Yonca-Onuk Shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul, President Demir was informed about the features and capabilities of Sancar SİDA.

Speaking at the event, Demir said, “We aim to become one of the leading countries in the world in this field by showing the experience and success we have gained in armed unmanned aerial vehicles in sea vehicles as well. We have many studies on SİDAs, SANCAR SİDA is one of them. It is very important for us that SİDAs work in an integrated operational environment in terms of preparation for the operational environment of the future. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this step.”

Developed for the purpose of performing reconnaissance and surveillance, surface warfare and mine countermeasure missions unmanned, Sancar SİDA will minimize this risk with the concept of unmanned use in missions that are risky for human life, and will enable many tasks to be carried out more cost-effectively with the useful loads on it.

Features of Sancar SİDA;
