Blessed are our fellow citizens of Diyarbakir. This year, our brothers from Diyarbakır showed great interest in the event. Applications were made for our one-year-old baby, who has just opened his eyes, and for our 86-year-old, beautiful-hearted uncle. The number of applicants reached approximately 6. We are now hosting thousands of guests in the observation events where only 600-300 participants took part two or three years ago.” he said.

ASTRONOMY STUDIES PRESENTATIONS WILL BE MADE

Stating that at the event, professional and amateur astronomers will have the opportunity to examine the sky, Varank stated that there will be presentations about astronomy studies carried out thousands of years ago in the best preserved Mithras Temple in the world.

SUN OBSERVATION WITH SPECIAL FILTER TELESCOPES

During the night, experts will introduce the sky and constellations. Observations of planets, nearby nebulae, star clusters and deep space objects will be made with numerous telescopes. This event will have everything for space and science enthusiasts. They will learn, have fun, gain experience.” he said.

THE IMPULSE OF KNOWLEDGE, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

“The future and independence are both in the skies.” Varank said, “Today, the countries that stand out in the space race are the most economically powerful countries in the world. Because space studies are the driving force of scientific knowledge, innovation and technology. In this sense, our task is to determine our direction correctly. It is our duty to continue to work in these fields by making the best use of the opportunities we offer in line with this direction.” used the expressions.

WE ACCELERATED SPACE WORKS

Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Varank stated that they accelerated space studies in line with the National Technology Move and said, “We have made significant gains with TÜBİTAK UZAY before. Especially with the satellite projects we developed, we jumped in the league. With the establishment of the Turkish Space Agency, we have gained a new momentum. We started to work by announcing the National Space Program targets in February last year. For example, we have made great progress in the design of the spacecraft to be used in the lunar exploration mission, and the hybrid rocket engine that will provide the propulsion power to carry the spacecraft to the moon. Regarding satellite production, we have finalized the launch date of our sub-meter resolution domestic and national observation satellite IMECE.” he said.

TURKISH SPACE TRAVEL AND SCIENCE MISSION

Explaining that they have started to register volunteers for the Turkish Space Passenger and Science Mission project, Varank said, "Thank God, the selection of space travelers continues at full speed. From Diyarbakir, I would like to call out again to our citizens all over Turkey. It's time to turn your dreams into pride. Applications for those who want to go to the International Space Station will continue at 'uzaya.gov.tr' until June 23, 2022 at 20.23. The number of our citizens who have registered to the system so far has exceeded 35 thousand. The number of citizens who completed their applications by meeting all the conditions we wanted reached 76, of which 483 were women. Personally, I think this interest will increase exponentially towards the end of the application.” said.

GOOD NEWS TO SCIENTISTS AND RESEARCHERS

Minister Varank also shared the good news for scientists and researchers, “We launched a 'Science Mission Call' in which we will evaluate proposals for the realization of scientific activities in space. Within the scope of the call, scientific projects that will contribute the most to the development of technology, economic development and the world of science will be selected by us. The tests and experiments of the project selected as the final will be accepted by our Space Passenger to be carried out on the International Space Station. A technology or material developed in Turkey will be taken to space and subjected to tests and experiments there, so that we will experience a scientific development for the benefit of the whole world with our scientists. Here, too, applications will continue until July 4.” gave the information.

WE ARE PROGRESSING STEP BY STEP

Underlining that they are progressing step by step in the space race, Varank said, “Don't have any hesitation. Just as the world is talking about our achievements in the defense industry today, it will talk about our achievements in the space field tomorrow. I wholeheartedly believe that.” said.
