Sinan Ogan (born September 1, 1967, Melekli, Iğdır) is a Turkish strategic researcher and politician.
Sinan Ogan was born on September 1, 1967 in Melekli town of Iğdır as a child of a family of Azeri origin. He is a graduate of Marmara University FEAS and completed his master's degree at the same university. He completed his doctoral studies at Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO). He speaks advanced Russian and academic English. He worked as a research assistant at Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute, as a lecturer and Deputy Dean at Azerbaijan State University of Economics. He became the TIKA Azerbaijan Representative. He was awarded the "State Order" by the President of Azerbaijan. He was the Head of the Eurasian Center for Strategic Studies (ASAM) Russia Ukraine Studies Desk. He founded and chaired TÜRKSAM. He has 3 published books and more than 500 articles. Milliyet His newspaper is the owner of the "Social Sciences", Marmara University "Academic Outstanding Achievement" and Ekoavrasya Association "Service to the Turkish World" awards. In a study conducted by the “Interpress Media Monitoring Center” on the most discussed topic and the names that appeared on the television screens most in 2010, he was among the names that appeared on the television screens most in Turkey with 131 news.
Political career
He was elected as Iğdır deputy from the Nationalist Movement Party in the 2011 Turkish general elections. He is a member of the Turkey-Albania and Turkey-Niger Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the Secretary General of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group. He was expelled from the Nationalist Movement Party on August 26, 2015. He returned to the MHP, from which he was expelled, on November 2, 2015, by winning the case. On March 10, 2017, Balıkesir Deputy İsmail Ok, Kayseri Deputy Yusuf Halaçoğlu and Isparta Deputy Nuri Okutan were expelled from the MHP again.
