Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who visited DOF Robotics, which produces high-tech virtual and augmented reality programs and mechanical motion simulators for the entertainment industry, tested the platform developed by the company. Emphasizing that Turkey has come to a good point in this field, Varank said, "We have companies that make serious production in the world's entertainment industry." said.

Varank, who received information about the activities of the company's Chairman of the Board, Mustafa Mertcan in Istanbul, tested the platform developed by DOF Robotics by wearing virtual reality glasses.

In a statement regarding his visit, Varank stated that the company exports high-tech production by combining mechanics and virtual reality in the entertainment industry.

Pointing out that the products developed by DOF Robotics are a technology used in thematic parks in the entertainment industry all over the world, Varank said, “Here, our company produces its products, which it has developed, designed and developed in the R&D center supported by our ministry, and then exports it to all over the world.” he said.

Noting that especially with the spread of animation, the entertainment industry has started to move to a different dimension all over the world, Varank said:

“Now, people can have the opportunity to access and experience the mechanical but high-tech and high-security versions of the amusement equipment in the amusement park, which we can now call real roller coaster, combined with virtual, much more easily. We got on the roller coaster here with Mr. Mustafa. We put on our virtual reality glasses and had an interesting experience. On the way, we tried together a version that resembles the Far East, where you can also do some struggles that will excite children and young people more. As you fly in the sky, you feel that you are spinning and somersaulting around you. Of course, you only try this through glasses, with the support of mechanical systems.”

WE GOT GREAT MOMENTARY IN VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTION

Stating that they are a government that wants to grow Turkey with value-added production, Varank emphasized that with the development of R&D centers and technoparks, engineers and technical personnel started to develop and produce much more value-added products.

Reminding that an animation studio they visited recently sold their animations to all over the world, Varank continued as follows:

“Today, we saw the creative products developed by DOF Robotics in the entertainment industry. Large companies that have license rights in the entertainment and animation sector in the world allow such a company to use their licenses and allow entertainment equipment to be sold all over the world. Therefore, we can say that we have come to a point. In this field, we also have different companies that produce in Turkey. We have companies that make serious production in the entertainment industry, the water world or the roller coaster world we call theme parks. The fact that DOF Robotics has developed such a capability on its own and is getting a share from the world market is one of the best examples of value-added production that we always talk about.”

GOVERNMENT OPPORTUNITIES TRIGGER THE REAL SECTOR

While the company is making these productions, Varank stated that the state is with him at every stage with support, and used the following statements:

“We continue to support all sectors with the support of TÜBİTAK and KOSGEB or the R&D and design centers opened by the companies themselves. If our companies are going to make large investments, our investment incentive system comes into play. Entrepreneurs accomplish this task themselves, but the contribution of our state to them is undeniable. This company has realized about 5 projects together with TUBITAK. The first development of some of the products here was thanks to TÜBİTAK projects. Of course, the fact that these opportunities provided by the state trigger the real sector shows how correct our work is.”

Noting that DOF Robotics is one of the top 3 companies in the world in this field, Varank said, “But we want to see them in the first place. This is not enough, we want to see many more companies doing the same work. We want Turkey to come to mind first when they say which country is there that combines virtual reality and mechanics in the entertainment world. Hopefully, we will achieve this through our companies.” made its assessment.

EXPORTED TO MORE THAN 80 COUNTRIES

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Mertcan, stated that they export approximately 90 percent of their products and that they export to more than 80 countries.

Informing that they mostly work with the USA, Mertcan emphasized that they expect exports to increase in the next period, to regions they could not reach due to the pandemic.

Expressing that they are trying to benefit from all the support provided by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Mertcan thanked Minister Varank for his visit.

TURKISH STAMP IN THE WORLD ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

The company, which develops high value-added robots and software such as advanced technology virtual and augmented reality, autonomous robots, motion simulators and interactive VR games, exports 95 percent of its product range to more than 80 countries in the world under the DOF Robotics brand. The company, which received awards at CES Las Vegas and IAAPA Orlando, one of the world's largest and most important technology fairs held in the USA, is located in the most visited theme parks in the world, especially in the USA and China, such as Marvel Studios and Universal Studios.
