The Integrative and Anatolian Medicine Congress with International Participation, hosted by the University of Health Sciences Bursa Faculty of Medicine, with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa City Council, will be held in Bursa between 13-15 May 2022.

In the light of ancient wisdom, the introductory meeting of the congress, where the healing resources of nature will be discussed in the cultural capital Bursa, was held at the Bursa City Council Çınar Camlı Hall. Bursa City Council President Şevket Orhan, speaking at the meeting, stated that traditional complementary medicine is a somewhat neglected subject in Turkey, and said that they aim to move the issue to a better point with more scientific studies.

Bursa City Council Health Working Group Representative Prof. Dr. Sedat Demir said that traditional complementary medicine is currently on the agenda of the whole world. Expressing that the important thing is to apply it in the right combination of treatment, Demir said, “Turkey has advanced in the last 20 years in terms of health care and technology. Today, Turkey is not behind any other country in the world in terms of evidence-based medicine and positive medicine. In an age where knowledge has grown so much, branching has also reached a very advanced level. While the general subject of complementary medicine was not well taken care of at one time, with the growth of knowledge, a correct idea of ​​where and how to apply complementary medicine has been gained. The aim of these studies is to put complementary medicine on a scientific platform with the right approaches. "The day we base the complementary medicine elements on evidence with scientific studies, we will see that it really turns into the treatment element," he said.

Health Sciences University Bursa Faculty of Medicine Deputy Dean Prof. Dr. Elif Güler Kazancı reminded that there will be 125 panels in the congress, which will include 35 speakers who are experts in their fields. Stating that the human body is not just a physical body, it also presents a spiritual and mental integrity, Kazancı said, “For this reason, traditional and complementary medicine applications can be used in many areas in the light of modern medicine, not only in the physical field, but also in the treatment of patients in the spiritual and physical sense. . Our aim; to share the clinical and scientific research of our experienced teachers and to scientifically discuss how patient results support the healing issue. In addition to the scientific sessions, we will have about 125 lecturers and 35 panels. In addition to these panels, specific workshops will be held. While the scientific session will continue simultaneously, workshops will continue in different halls at the same time. In addition, sessions will be held not only for scientific platforms, but also for our people with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality and the City Council. Panels will be held on topics such as social awareness, healthy living formulas, healthy aging, and the use of mixed foods. Thus, we want to represent this issue on every platform.”

Kazancı reminded that the rectors of about 15 universities from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will attend the congress with the support of the Eurasia Research and Application Center and TIKA.
