'Inside Out Faces' Exhibition Opened by Award-Winning Architect's Brush

Architect / Painter Gülseren Kayın Öker's personal painting exhibition titled “From Inside Out” met art lovers at Galeri SanatYAPIM on May 16, 2022.

Galeri SanatYapim is hosting the extraordinary exhibition of painter Gülseren Kayın Öker, who has been working on freelance architecture for thirty years after graduating from the Department of Architecture at Middle East Technical University, as well as on furniture design and furniture production.

Öker mainly creates the subject of his paintings from a series of utopian spaces, based on an imaginary universe called “mytopia- or nowhere”. The artist, who was awarded the National Architecture Award in 2004 with this series, also produces mask-like works called “noone”, which he creates with patterns, oil paint portraits, prints and palm shells, in which human figures with intense emotionality are depicted with deformed faces.

The exhibition, which will open on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Galeri SanatYapim, will continue to meet with the audience until May 30.
