Top class with progressive luxury

Carrying all the characteristic elements of Mercedes-EQ, EQE offers a sporty, 'purposeful design' with its curved lines and cabin design (Cab-Forward) positioned at the front. sensory purity; The generously shaped surfaces are mirrored by reduced seams and seamless transitions. While the front and rear bumper-wheel distances are kept short, dynamism is supported by a sharp spoiler at the rear. The 19- to 21-inch wheels that are flush with the body, together with the muscular shoulder line, give the EQE an athletic appearance.

Original design for electric cars

Innovative headlights and a black radiator grille give the EQE, the new member of the Mercedes-EQ generation, an athletic face. Not only does it offer a unique look, the black radiator grille also assumes an important responsibility by hosting various sensors of driver assistance systems such as ultrasound, camera and radar. In addition to the daytime LEDs that reflect the characteristic design of the vehicle, DIGITAL LIGHT headlights that support your night driving are offered as standard.

stunning exterior design

The aerodynamic silhouette with frameless, coupé-like doors and the high, strong shoulder line stand out as distinctive design elements. Aerodynamically and aeroacoustically optimized side mirrors are fixed to the shoulder line. Chrome accents complete the design and silhouette with the arc line of the windows.

Spacious interior

Designed to be more compact than the EQS, the EQE has a wheelbase of 3.120 millimeters, 90 millimeters shorter than the EQS. The new EQE reveals similar exterior dimensions as the CLS. Similar to the CLS, it has a fixed rear window and tailgate. The interior dimensions, for example in terms of shoulder room at the front (+27 mm) or interior length (+80 mm), exceed those of the current E-Class (213 model series). EQE, which has a 65 cm higher seating position compared to the E-Class, has a luggage volume of 430 liters.

Range up to 613 kilometers

The EQE is launched in two different versions in the first place, the EQE 292+ with 215 HP (350 kW) and the Mercedes-AMG EQE 625 460MATIC+ with 53 HP (4 kW). The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ represents the ultimate in electric driving performance from Mercedes-AMG. The battery of the EQE 350+ has a usable energy capacity of approximately 90 kWh and offers a range of up to 613 km according to WLTP.

Air suspension and rear axle steering

The suspension of the new EQE with four-link front suspension and multi-link rear suspension is similar in design to the new S-Class. EQE can be optionally equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension with ADS+ adaptive suspension system. With rear axle steering as standard, the EQE offers as much maneuverability in the city as a compact car. With the rear axle steering with an angle of up to 10 degrees, the turning circle is reduced from 12,5 meters to 10,7 meters.

High quality fresh air indoors

Mercedes-Benz offers a comprehensive air quality solution in EQE with the ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL Plus package and HEPA filter. The system consists of filter, sensors, control display and air conditioner. The HEPA filter traps particles, pollen and other substances coming from outside with its high filtration level. The activated carbon coating reduces sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, as well as indoor odors. In 2021, the Austrian Research and Testing Institute (OFI) awarded Mercedes-Benz with the “OFI CERT” ZG 250-1 certificate, as the cabin air filter, which provides this optional feature, properly filters viruses and bacteria.

With the pre-conditioning feature, it is also possible to clean the air inside before driving. Particle values inside and outside the vehicle are displayed on the air conditioning screen. When the outside air quality is poor, the system can also suggest closing the side windows or sunroof while automatically switching to recirculation mode.

Electric smart navigation

Electric Intelligent Navigation plans the fastest and most convenient route based on numerous factors, including charging stations, dynamically responding to a change in driving style. This includes visualization of information in the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system whether the available battery capacity is sufficient to return to the starting point without recharging. In route calculation, charging stations that are added to the route manually are preferred.

Display richness in the cockpit with optional MBUX Hyperscreen

With MBUX Hyperscreen offered as standard in Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+, three screens in the interior of the vehicle combine under a glass panel to appear as a single screen. The 12,3-inch OLED screen with an independent interface makes the journey more enjoyable for the front passengers. There is a camera-based blocking system that detects whether the driver is looking at the screen in front of the passenger. In this case, the system automatically dims the dynamic content for the driver when the driver looks at the adjacent screen while driving.

MBUX maintains its lead

The new generation MBUX, recently introduced with EQS, is also featured in EQE and offers a wealth of personalized recommendations for infotainment, comfort and vehicle function. Thanks to its zero-layer design, the user does not need to navigate through sub-menus or give voice commands. The most important applications are presented in the most visible area, depending on the situation. Thus, the EQE driver gets rid of complex operations.

Driving systems that provide support in many situations

EQE has a new driving support system equipped with many functions. ATTENTION ASSIST's light sleep alert (with MBUX Hyperscreen) is one of them. The system analyzes the driver's eyelid movements with the camera. The driver can easily access the driving support information from the screen in front of him.

Efficient power-train system

All EQE versions have an electric powertrain (eATS) on the rear axle. The 4MATIC versions also have an eATS on the front axle. Electromotors, continuously driven synchronous motors PSM, and the rotor of the AC motor are equipped with permanent magnets, so there is no need for power support. This design offers advantages such as high power density, efficiency and power stability. The six-phase design, which is applied to the motor on the rear axle and consists of two three-phase windings, brings a strong structure.

The lithium-ion battery in the EQE 350+ consists of ten modules and provides 90 kWh of energy. Innovative battery management software developed in-house allows for service updates. Thus, EQE's energy management stays current throughout its lifecycle.

In the new generation battery, an important step has been taken in terms of the sustainability of cell chemistry. The optimized active material consists of nickel, cobalt and manganese in a ratio of 8:1:1. This brings the cobalt content down to less than 10 percent. Optimization of recycling is an important pillar of the Mercedes-Benz battery strategy.

Consistently high performance and uninterrupted acceleration characterize the EQE's driving philosophy. It incorporates different energy efficiency solutions such as advanced power-transfer system and energy recovery. The high-voltage battery is charged by converting mechanical rotational motion into electrical energy in overrun or braking mode. The driver can adjust the deceleration in three stages (D+, D, D-) and can also select the glide function manually with the paddles behind the steering wheel or use the DAuto mode.

ECO Assist offers optimized recovery according to the situation. Deceleration intensifies or decreases to provide the most efficient driving. In addition, recuperative deceleration is applied for vehicles detected ahead. Recuperative deceleration supports the driver, for example, by stopping the vehicle at traffic lights. The driver, who does not have to press the brakes, literally enjoys single-pedal driving.

Contrast sound experiences with high acoustic and vibration comfort

As a sedan with a tailgate, the EQE is equipped with advanced solutions to offer high-level NVH (Noise/Vibration/Rigidity) comfort, such as noise, vibration, and rigidity. The electric power-transmission system (eATS) uses solutions optimized for NVH (Noise/Vibration/Rigidity) inside magnets and rotors. Also, all over the eATS is a special foam in the form of an NVH (Noise/Vibration/Rigidity) blanket.

Highly effective spring/mass components provide uninterrupted sound insulation from the cross member under the windscreen to the trunk floor. At the raw body stage, acoustic foams are placed on many carriers.

Driving turns into an acoustic experience with EQE. Burmester® 3D surround sound system offers two sound environments, EQE Silver Waves and Vivid Flux. Silver Waves offers a sensual and clean sound, while Vivid Flux for EV enthusiasts offers a crystalline, synthetic yet human sound. Audio experiences can be selected or turned off from the central screen.

Advanced passive and active security

“Holistic Safety Principles”, especially accident safety, are always valid. Like all other Mercedes-Benz models, the EQE has a solid passenger compartment, special deformation zones and modern safety systems, including PRE-SAFE®.

The fact that the EQE rises on an all-electric platform also provides new design possibilities for the safety concept. For example, there is a suitable area for battery mounting in the crash-proof area of the lower body. Also, since there is no large engine block, forward collision behavior can be modeled even better. In addition to standard crash tests, the vehicle's performance in various overhead situations has been validated and extensive component testing has been conducted at the Vehicle Safety Technology Center (TFS).
