The photography exhibition “8.500 Years in a Day” organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Izmir Foundation opens its doors on May 17 at the Pakistan Pavilion Exhibition Hall in Kulturpark. Simultaneously with the exhibition, the 8.500 Years of History in One Day tour begins.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İzmir Foundation are holding a photography exhibition titled “8.500 Years in a Day” at the Pakistan Pavilion Tourism Information Office and Exhibition Hall in Kültürpark. The exhibition, which will open its doors on Tuesday, May 17, can be visited until the end of July. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to witness the historical process of Izmir, which dates back 8 years.
Two language options
“8.500 Years in a Day” exhibition, from Yeşilova Tumulus (Bornova), a neolithic age settlement, to Old Smyrna (Bayraklı) and Smyrna (Konak), where Alexander the Great played a major role in its establishment, to today's modern Izmir, chronologically mentioning the four historical faces of the city, it takes its visitors on a magical time travel. Many institutions, especially the heads of the excavation sites, supported the preparation process of the exhibition, whose photographs were supported by written narratives. The exhibition, which includes texts in English as well as Turkish, is also accessible to foreign guests with its two language options.
There is also a history tour
Simultaneously with the exhibition, the free “8.500 Years of History in One Day” tour starts as part of the City Tours organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
