Some roads in the city will be closed to traffic on Sunday, April 17, due to the International Izmir Marathon, which will be organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the theme of "A sustainable world". Due to the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam to be held on the same day, measures were taken by making changes in the bus routes.

İzmir will host the third of the International İzmir Marathon on Sunday, April 17. The third of the marathon, the first of which was organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the theme of "Forest Izmir" and the second with the theme of "Hand in hand for a sustainable world" in line with the sustainability principles of the United Nations, will be run again this year with the theme of "sustainability".

The 10-kilometer marathon will start at 07.20 in the morning next to Atatürk High School, and the 42-kilometer race will start in front of the Kültürpark İZFAŞ building at 08.00:5. In the 42-kilometer marathon, runners will follow the route of Şair Eşref Boulevard, Kültürpark İZFAŞ building, Atatürk Street, in front of Alsancak Train Station, Liman Street, Zafer Payzın Junction, Altınyol, Anadolu Caddesi, Cemal Gürsel Avenue, Hasan Ali Yücel Boulevard. The direction (sea side) will be closed to traffic in stages. In the direction of the turn, the traffic flow will be arranged as a round trip. Participants will turn at the intersection of Cemal Gürsel Street, Hasan Ali Yücel. It will continue on the same route and follow Talatpaşa Boulevard, Cumhuriyet Boulevard, Cumhuriyet Square, in front of Konak Pier, Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard, and Haydar Aliyev Boulevard in front of Üçkuyular Ferry Terminal. The sea side on this route will be closed to traffic. Traffic flow will be arranged as round-trip in the direction of return. After passing İzmir Marina, the runners who will return from Çakalburnu entrance will finish the race in front of Kültürpark İZFAŞ building after Cumhuriyet Boulevard, Gazi Boulevard, Şair Eşref Boulevard and Montreux Square.

For both races, on Sunday, April 17, the roads on the route will be closed to traffic between 05.00 and 14.00 by taking the necessary traffic precautions. Karşıyaka Roads in the direction of 13.00 will be opened to traffic in a controlled manner. Between 07.00:12.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX on race day Karşıyaka-Mansion, Karşıyaka There will be no ferry services in the direction of Passport / Alsancak.
