Local Governments and Aged Policies Workshop Held

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organizes a workshop on “Local Administrations and Policies for the Elderly” in cooperation with the Aegean Geriatrics Association. The workshop to be held at İzmir City Council Headquarters between 14-15 April will bring together academicians, experts, representatives of professional chambers and non-governmental organizations.

With the increase in the elderly population in the world, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which focuses on old age-oriented studies, organizes a "Local Administrations and Elderly Policies" workshop. The workshop, which will be organized in cooperation with the Aegean Geriatrics Association, will be held at the Izmir City Council Central Office between 14-15 April. In the workshop, many topics will be discussed, including aging in situ, safe living risks and precautions, elderly welfare and survival, macro environment-micro environment, technological supports in aging in situ, gerontechnology and digital literacy.

It is aimed to transform into viable projects.

With the workshop to be held by the Izmir City Council Healthy Aging and Elderly Policies Working Group, local policies that prioritize the independent, appropriate, healthy aging opportunities and rights of the elderly, include social welfare, participation and self-realization opportunities, and emphasize accessible, effective public services and environments strongly. It is aimed to contribute and transform İzmir's potential in this field into applicable projects.
