First Stage of Malatya Ring Road Opens Tomorrow

The first stage of the Malatya Ring Road, which connects the Eastern Anatolia Region to the West, will be opened with a ceremony to be held tomorrow. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also attend the opening via video conference.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Malatya is located on the Historical King and Silk Road route; It was noted that it is at the crossing point of 16 provinces with its location that brings together land, air and railway transportation networks.

In the statement, “In the city, which is growing steadily with its agricultural, commercial and industrial activities, the 35,5-kilometer section, which extends from the existing Akçadağ-Darende-Gölbaşı junction to the Pütürge junction, provides service to Malatya's urban and intercity traffic. Malatya Ring Road was implemented in order to relieve the city passage, which came to the point of congestion under the heavy traffic load, which is crossed with bridged intersections and signalization systems, in its presence.

In the statement that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the opening of the first stage of the Malatya Ring Road via video conference, it was stated that the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu will go to Malatya for the ceremony tomorrow.

THE PROJECT INCLUDES 2 BRIDGES WITH A LENGTH OF 166 thousand 25 meters

It was noted that the main axis of the Malatya Ring Road is 44,8 kilometers, and its total length has reached 8,7 kilometers, together with the 53,5-kilometer Akçadağ connection road. The statement that there are 13 bridges in the project with a total length of 5 thousand 3 meters, including 4 intersection bridges, 2 underpass bridges, 166 DDY bridges and 25 hydraulic bridges, continued as follows:

“The project route starts from (Malatya – Gölbaşı) Junction-Darende Junction and heads towards east and ends at (Elazığ – Malatya) Junction – Pütürge Junction. Also, the connection road starting from (Malatya – Darende) Junction - Akçadağ Junction is 8,7. km joins the main road. Within the scope of the 1st Part to be opened; A total of 17,4 kilometers of road section, 8,7 kilometers long (Darende - Gölbaşı) Junction - Sivas Junction, and 26,1 kilometer Akçadağ Connection Road, has been completed. In this section, 244 bridges with a total length of 10 meters were manufactured. Thus, traffic circulation was ensured up to the Sivas Road separation point. Work continues on the remaining sections.

CITY CROSSING WITH MALATYA RINGROAD WILL BE SHORTENED IN 35 MINUTES

Emphasizing that with the complete commissioning of the Ring Road, heavy tonnage vehicle traffic and transit vehicle traffic will be taken out of the city, the traffic density in Malatya city center will be relieved, and it was underlined that uninterrupted and comfortable transportation will be provided. The city crossing, which takes up to 60 minutes during peak hours of traffic, will decrease to 25 minutes. Carbon emissions will be reduced by 89 tons.
