As of March 2021, the sector's exports to Qatar amounted to 10 million 320 thousand dollars. The sector's exports decreased by 55,6% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 9 million 444 thousand dollars.
Sector exports to Pakistan in March 2021 amounted to 889 thousand dollars. Sector exports increased by 1193,2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 11 million 507 thousand dollars.
The Turkish defense and aerospace industry, which realized exports of 2021 million 246 thousand dollars in March 958, achieved a total of 32,7 million 2022 thousand dollars in March 327 with an increase of 774 percent.
The target in defense and aerospace exports is 4 billion dollars
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the ceremony held at the Istanbul Maritime Shipyard for the commissioning of the Test and Training Ship TCG Ufuk and made a speech. Emphasizing that Turkey owes all the moves required by its national interests in every field, from the fight against terrorism to cross-border operations, despite all the embargoes, both covert and open, President Erdoğan said that he owes the progress he has made in the defense industry.
“Thank God, we design, develop, manufacture and use systems that we need in a wide range of areas, from unmanned air-land-sea vehicles to helicopters, from weapons and ammunition to missiles, from air defense systems to electronic warfare. The number of countries using Turkish defense industry products is increasing every year. We expect our defense and aerospace exports to exceed 4 billion dollars by the end of this year.”
