The film "Archipel Women", which emerged with the project that provides free cinema education to women who want to make films, received the "Best Documentary" award at the 6th European Film Festival. The film also competed in the "Best Film" category at the "Women's Voices Now" Online Film Festival in the USA.

“Our real story begins now”

Kibar Dağlayan Yiğit, the coordinator of the “Women of Our Neighborhoods Make Cinema” project, said, “We are proud to bring this award to Turkey. On this journey Tunç Soyer's contribution is huge. We have proven ourselves by winning awards. We showed what can be done when women are supported. Our real journey begins now.”

He got the award with the movie he started to be remembered

Nejla Deveci İmancı, who undertook the second direction of the film, said, “I heard about the project 5 years ago when I was attending an embroidery workshop in Seferihisar. I attended the training and for the first time in my life, I took the camera in my hand with the film Archipelago Women. Actually, this journey that I started so that we can keep a memory for us, went all the way to the award. With the award we received, we once again showed everyone the result of women's solidarity.”

In the project "Women of Our Neighborhood Are Making Cinema", the film was directed by Kibar Dağlayan Yiğit and by Nejla Deveci İmancı, who also directed his first film with the training he received in the project. Archipelago Women tells the filmmaking story and festival journeys of women who are involved in the project and who have taken a camera for the first time in their lives.

The “Women of Our Neighborhood Make Cinemas” project, which was initiated in Seferihisar, continues within the scope of the work of the ANAHTAR Women's Studies Holistic Service Center established by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
