Akbaş Chaired the 'Railroad Tuesdays' Meeting

The International Union of Railways (UIC) Middle East Regional Board (RAME) held the “Railroad Tuesdays” Meeting by teleconference. At the meeting, which started with the opening speech of TCDD General Manager and RAME President Metin Akbaş, UIC Passenger Director and RAME Coordinator Marc Guigon, passenger; Sandra Gehenot, Freight Director, freight; UIC Operations and Safety Officer Frederic Henon, rail system and safety; UIC Europe Coordinator and Standardization Officer Simon Fletcher, standardization; UIC Trailed Vehicles Senior Specialist Alain Scherrer made a presentation on maintenance and towed vehicles.

Metin Akbaş, General Manager of TCDD and President of RAME, drew attention to the importance of the "Railroad Tuesdays" Meeting in terms of sharing expertise and knowledge regarding the sector. Akbaş underlined that the meeting, which was held to exchange views on railways and various issues, would increase regional cooperation and relations between countries. Stating that the meeting was for the common benefit of the region, Akbaş stated that TCDD was always ready for close cooperation.

RAME Office officials, representatives of RAME member countries and TCDD bureaucrats attended the meeting.
