When Will Ankara Sivas YHT Expeditions Be Started?

The public is eagerly awaiting when the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train (YHT) services, which Sivas residents have been waiting for years and whose opening has been postponed many times, will start.

According to the information we have obtained from some high-level officials of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, High Speed Train services are planned to start before the Eid al-Adha this year.

According to the information we obtained at the point of when the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train (YHT) services, which is the biggest railway project in the history of the Republic and whose performance tests have been going on for a long time, will start, YHT services are planned to start before the Eid al-Adha, which will be celebrated on July 9 this year.

According to the information obtained, the High Speed Train sets produced by Siemens were excluded from the warranty by the company if they were operated on the conventional line. Thanks to the new agreement with the company, High Speed Train sets will now be able to operate on the conventional line without leaving the warranty.

For this reason, for the start of Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train services, it will not be expected to complete the works carried out with difficulty due to the hard ground in the 4-kilometer-long tunnel called T 15 between Kırıkkale Balıseyh and Ankara.

High Speed Train transportation will be provided from Sivas to Kırıkkale Balıseyh via a high-speed, conventional line between Baliseyh and Ankara. There will be no transfer between Sivas and Ankara and passengers will reach their destination by train.

However, since the tunnel called T 15 could not be activated, high-speed train services between Ankara and Sivas will be carried out in 2 hours and 3 minutes, not 30 hours for now. The works carried out in the tunnel called T 4 between Kırıkkale Balıseyh and Ankara, which is 15 kilometers long, are planned to be completed by the end of 2024. If the biggest railway project in the History of the Republic, which will connect Ankara to Sivas by high-speed train, is put into service this year before the Eid al-Adha, Sivas will celebrate a double feast.

YHT WILL PROVIDE COMFORTABLE AND ECONOMIC SERVICE

With the start of High Speed Train activity between Sivas and Ankara, economic opportunities and the number of tourism will increase in Sivas. On the other hand, Sivas-Ankara High Speed Train ticket prices are expected to be between 140 and 160 liras. Thus, citizens who experience difficulties in their travels due to the increase in fuel prices will have a comfortable and economical travel alternative.

MINISTER SAID IT CAN GO TO 2023

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who evaluated the latest situation of Ankara-Sivas YHT in the past weeks, said that the line could be opened until the end of the year and that it could extend to 2023. (Our Sivas)

Comment

  1. When will the domestic HT sets produced in Sakarya come into play? In this way, Ankara Kayseri, Ankara Balıkesir-Bandırma and Ankara Balıkesir-İzmir voyages can be planned and conventional trains operated as Eskişehir Afyon Uşak İzmir. It's time to increase diversity with new sets in passenger transportation
