The average expenditure per person was 841 dollars for foreigners, 849 dollars for citizens, 845 dollars in total. Nightly income was $75 for foreigners, $51 for citizens, totaling $68. The average length of stay was 11,2 nights for foreigners, 16,7 nights for citizens, 12,5 nights in total.

Increase Rate in the First 3 Months 151,02 Percent

Of the visitors coming to Turkey, 4 million 902 thousand 624 were foreigners and 1 million 408 thousand 829 were citizens residing abroad.

According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreigners visiting Turkey in the first quarter increased by 151,02 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the ranking of the countries that sent the most visitors to Turkey in the first quarter, Iran ranked first with an increase of 228,43 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Germany took the second place with an increase of 219,66 percent, and Bulgaria took the third place with an increase of 272,44 percent. Bulgaria was followed by the Russian Federation and Iraq.

Increase in March About 130 Percent

According to the January-March 2022 statistics of the Ministry, 129,70 million 2 thousand 79 foreigners visited Turkey in March, an increase of 565 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the list of countries sending the most visitors to Turkey in March, Iran ranked first with an increase of 284,27% compared to the same month of the previous year, Germany ranked second with an increase of 163,76%, and Bulgaria ranked third with an increase of 274,51 percent. Bulgaria was followed by the Russian Federation and England, respectively.
