Mersin Intercity Bus Terminal 'MEŞOT' Renovated

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Science Affairs Department established new resting areas for passengers arriving and departing from Mersin Intercity Bus Terminal (MEŞOT). Having carried out extensive improvement works in the MEŞOT building, the Metropolitan gave MEŞOT a more modern look with its new seating groups.

The Department of Science Affairs, which carried out the roof insulation and suspended ceiling renovation of the MEŞOT building, completely renewed the wall paint of the building. Having placed a total of 16 flower pots, 22 iron-framed panels and 21 seating groups in MEŞOT, the Metropolitan teams brought a modern resting area to the arriving passengers. The Parks and Gardens Department also worked on ornamental pools and flower pots.

Civil Engineer Mustafa Ümit Diken, who works in the Metropolitan Municipality Science Affairs Department, gave information about their work and said, “We have prepared a unique project to welcome our guests. We made decks, wooden sitting groups, concrete ornamental pools and pots made of galvanized sheet metal. We modernized this space. We also made wooden seating groups inside. To support these, 88 visuals were prepared. We will present pictures with all the features of our Mersin to our outgoing passengers. We have 19 lighting sections inside. 15 of them were leaking water. We did the isolation. There are currently no water leaks. We also painted the walls, wood and iron works inside. We have also completed the shortcomings of barrier-free walking belts for our disabled citizens.”

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Bus Terminal Branch Manager Erol Çetin stated that the citizens were satisfied with the work and said, “Our Mersin Metropolitan Municipality carried out improvement and renovation works within MEŞOT. In recent studies, the face of MEŞOT has changed with palm trees and sitting groups. It seems that the satisfaction of our citizens is at the highest level," he said.

“I have been in Mersin for 25 years, this is the first time I have seen the bus station become so beautiful”

Alaattin İlhan, one of the citizens waiting for his guest at the bus station, stated that he was satisfied with the work of the Metropolitan both in Mersin and in the bus station, and said, “I go to the bus station all the time. The work at the bus station is very nice. We're seeing it for the first time. I have been in Mersin for almost 25 years, this is the first time I have seen the bus station become so beautiful. When you look at it like this, the flower pots are beautiful, there is a novelty. It is a beautiful thing,” he said.

One of the citizens, Abdülmenaf Yerlikaya, said, “The Metropolitan is serving, we are really pleased. She did it very well. I have been living in Mersin for about 20 years. “We have never seen such a service before,” he said.
