Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ); 126. Announced in MAG Magazine that it has completed the first delivery of New Generation Wing Technology with Airbus. The full-length two-meter unibody prototype air brake (spoiler) produced by consolidation was combined. Deliveries will continue in 2022 as part of the New Generation Wing Technology Project.

The first delivery was made in the New Generation Wing Technology (Wing of Tomorrow - WOT) project, which is within the scope of the joint research agreement signed with Airbus in July 2018. Within the framework of the agreement, TUSAŞ started its activities for the design and production of thermoplastic monolithic air brakes (spoilers) for future passenger aircraft under the Structural Assistant General Manager; Successfully completed the mid-size monolithic air brake prototype in June 2020 with the “Consolidation Together” process. TAI; On December 24, 2021, it completed the assembly process of the full-length two-meter monolithic prototype air brake, which was produced with "Consolidation Together", one of the thermoplastic joining methods, and delivered it to Airbus.

This process, which is produced with the infrastructure developed by TAI and which is limited in number in the world, was used in a closed structure for the first time. TUSAŞ, which successfully continues the detailed parts production of additional full-length two-meter air brakes; It will deliver the 2nd set of air brake prototype to Airbus in 2022 with different processes developed.

400 degree protection from TAI to Airbus A360M aircraft

The integration of the Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) system, which was applied for the first time to the A400M military aircraft produced by Airbus, was carried out by TAI. The knowledge gained in the project, the design and production processes of which were completed successfully, can also be used in possible structural system integrations in ATAK and ANKA in the future.

TAI is at the heart of the first official integration project carried out by Airbus. The system, which can detect incoming missiles with its warning unit, ensures that the aircraft is protected even from hand-held air defense systems. For the first time in the A400M aircraft program, "From Painting to Production", that is, from production technology with ready design data, to "From Design to Production", that is, the process of creating design data by TAI.

TAI currently designs and manufactures the front-mid fuselage, tail cone and rear fuselage upper panel, fins/speed brakes, paratrooper and emergency exit doors, final assembly line support, as well as all body wiring, lighting and water/waste systems in the A400M program. He also undertook the first degree design and supply responsibility of all interior and exterior lighting systems, waste / clean water systems.

TAI also included DIRCM structural design and analysis, equipment assembly design, retrofit solution design, detail part production, assembly and a total of 2 kilometers of new cable manufacturing for each aircraft.
