For the Eid-al-Fitr holiday, eyes were turned to the government and the cabinet meeting. While the expected 9-day holiday decision from the cabinet did not come, the decision on free highways, bridges and public transportation vehicles due to Ramadan Feast was published in the Official Gazette. Osmangazi, Yavuz Sultan Selim and Çanakkale bridges will be chargeable. Tolls will continue to be charged for highways built with build-operate-transfer.

Which are free?

According to the decision published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, from 1 May 2022 at 00.00 until 5 May 2022 at 07.00, the highways under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways, as well as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, will be free of charge.

Northern Marmara, Eurasia Tunnel, Osmangazi Bridge toll on holiday 

The decision taken does not cover the projects made with the 'build-operate-transfer' model. Therefore, Yavuz Sultan Selim, Osmanbey, 18 March Çanakkale bridges, Istanbul-İzmir Highway, Northern Marmara Highway, Eurasia Tunnel will also be paid during the holiday.

When will the free pass start?

Free rides on bridges and highways will start from Saturday, May 30 (the night connecting Friday to Saturday). Free passes will continue from 30:00.00 on 5 May to 07.00:XNUMX on XNUMX May.
