In this period, developed industrial countries do not have an advantage. Turkey is a country where young minds trained in this period are the source.” used the expressions.

Informatics Valley Izmir, which will focus on technology-based initiatives; It will employ 6 thousand people in the fields of R&D, software and design. Informatics Valley, which hosts the Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group, will add strength to Turkey in the fields of mobility, connected technologies, health and agriculture technologies, and digital games with its new base in Izmir.

FIRST SIGNATURE FROM YILDIRIM

Binali Yıldırım, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, who was the Prime Minister at that time, signed the protocol regarding the İzmir Technology Base, which was later renamed Informatics Valley İzmir, in 2018. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at the inauguration of Turkey's technology and innovation base, Informatics Valley in 2019, announced that Izmir Technology Base will be brought under the umbrella of Informatics Valley. With the presidential decision published in 2021, the 180 thousand square meter area was declared as a technology development zone.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Varank said:

BRIGHT BRAINS OF IZMIR

Informatics Valley İzmir Technology Base, for which we laid the foundation, will be the center of Informatics Valley, inaugurated by our President, in İzmir. This additional area will help our country level up in mobility, connected technologies, smart cities, cybersecurity, design and digital games. Informatics Valley İzmir, which was first signed by Mr. Binali Yıldırım and later taken under the roof of Bilişim Vadisi, will have a surface area of 180 thousand square meters. The bright minds of İzmir will be opened to the world from Informatics Valley İzmir.

ONE OF HISTORIC MOMENTS

You will see, Bilisim Vadisi Koceli and Izmir, which are connected to each other by the mega technology corridor - together with other innovation ecosystem components - will carry Turkey to the super league in technology. That is why today is one of the historical moments of our country. Of course, Mr. Binali Yıldırım has a great effort in İzmir Informatics Valley. They have dreams. On this occasion, I am particularly happy to have the opportunity to throw the first mortar of the project together with Mr. Binali.

STRONG AND NATIONAL DEFENSE

If we are standing firmly in our place despite these conflicts and these wars, the defense industry, whose locality we have increased from 25 percent to 75 percent under the leadership of our President, has a large share in this. A strong and national defense industry is the guarantee of an independent Turkey. Now is the time to bring this into the civil realm. The innovation ecosystem that we have built from scratch in the last 19 years is our main capital that will carry Turkey to the top.

NEW BREAKTHROUGH EVERY DAY

Our country is moving resolutely towards the goal of a great and strong Turkey. We are making a new breakthrough every day in the field of industry and technology. We are working day and night to establish the strong image of Turkey in the defense industry in other industry and technology fields. Here, Informatics Valley Izmir will be one of the signs of our efforts. Together with the university, the private sector and entrepreneurs, they will build the foundations of our country's future. I expect the IT Valley Izmir to start operating towards the end of the year, causing a demand explosion from entrepreneurs here, just like in Kocaeli.

In his speech at the ceremony, AK Party Deputy Chairman Yıldırım said:

THE PROJECT WE DREAM

We are taking the first step of a project that we have dreamed of and planned for years. We are putting the first mortar with the efforts of our Minister Mustafa Varank. Space and time are no longer important in informatics. No matter where you live, there is communication day and night. 300 years is significant for human history. Change begins in the world in the mid-1700s; Invention of the steam engine. Then there are the second and third industrial revolutions.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

Unfortunately, we missed these three periods, we just became users. Now we have a golden opportunity in front of us as Turkey. Call it the 21st century, the digital age, the information communication age, the information economy age. In other words, we are talking about a period in which the sweat of the mind is replaced by the sweat of the sweat, where knowledge is power. In this period, advanced industrial countries do not have an advantage. Turkey is a country where young minds trained in this period are the source.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GO

When the AK Party came to power, spent on R&D activities, 0.4. Today the figure has reached the point of 1.03. Our goal is to increase it to 2-2,5. We have a long way to go before us. This is the way to achieve prosperity by shortening time. I believe that the Izmir section of Informatics Valley will be the beginning and will develop much more.

WE ARE GREAT EXCITED

İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said, “Informatics Valley will reveal the potential of our city in the field of technology. I hope our 6 thousand teammates who will serve our city and country will do extraordinary things here. With this investment to be made, the indoor capacity of the technology development zones in İzmir will increase by 2 and a half times. Informatics Valley Izmir will host 6 R&D, software and design employees and technology entrepreneurs.

CIVIL TECHNOLOGIES ARE IN FOCUS

Informatics Valley Izmir will attract international companies to Turkey with the high technology it will develop. It will also support entrepreneurs with the R&D and incubation structures to be established. The fact that Bilişim Vadisi, which focuses on civilian technologies, continues its national and international cooperation network in İzmir will contribute to employment and production.
