Operated by TAV Airports, Izmir Adnan Menderes, Ankara Esenboğa, Medina, Tbilisi and Skopje airports were among the best airports in the ASQ awards given by the World Airports Council (ACI World).

Izmir Adnan Menderes and Skopje airports, operated by TAV, Turkey's leading airport operator in the world, were deemed worthy of the “best airport” award in their respective categories within the scope of the Airport Service Quality ASQ program.

The two airports, together with Ankara Esenboğa, Tbilisi and Medina airports, were awarded in the "best hygiene practices" category added during the pandemic period.

The awards, determined by passenger evaluations by ACI World, will be handed over to their owners at a ceremony to be held in Krakow on 13-15 September 2022.

TAV Airports Group President (COO) Kürşad Koçak said, “As TAV, we served a total of 2021 million passengers at 15 airports we operated in eight different countries in 52. We strive to provide the best travel experience by closely monitoring the needs and expectations of our passengers in every country where we operate. During the pandemic period, we have fully implemented all measures for the safety of our employees and passengers. Our passenger traffic started to recover as travel restrictions began to be lifted in the middle of last year. During this period, we continued our efforts to offer a comfortable travel experience without compromising safety. We are happy to receive these awards, which are given directly based on the evaluations of the passengers.”

ACI World General Director Luis Felipe de Oliveira said: “I congratulate TAV Airports for its success in the ASQ Awards, which demonstrate excellence in customer experience and show the highest level in this regard for airports around the world. Passengers gave their grade and rewarded the successful efforts of TAV Airports teams in providing a superior customer experience in the challenging conditions of the pandemic period.

The ASQ program provides ACI member airports with tools to measure and improve passenger satisfaction, business performance and airport service quality.

Within the scope of the program, 95 surveys were conducted annually at more than 400 airports in 670 countries before the pandemic.
