Turkey's First National Unmanned Fighter Aircraft 'Bayraktar KIZILELMA' is on the Production Line!

The production development model of the first prototype of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, an unmanned fighter aircraft developed nationally and originally by Baykar, entered the integration line.

PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF THE FIRST PROTOTYPE

Developing Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs, which are shown as a game changer on the battlefield and caused a radical change in the war literature with their performance, Baykar has left behind an important stage in its combat unmanned fighter aircraft studies. The production development model of the first prototype of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, an unmanned fighter aircraft developed nationally and originally by Baykar, entered the integration line. Bayraktar KIZILELMA will be among the strongest elements of our security forces on the battlefield in the future, with its aggressive maneuvers and advanced artificial intelligence.

“BAYRAKTAR KIRSELMA WILL CARRY US TO THE FUTURE”

Baykar Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar announced that Baykar's Combat Unmanned Aircraft System (MİUS) project was named Bayraktar KIZILELMA. Bayraktar explained the reason why the unmanned warplane was named KIZILELMA as follows: “KIZILELMA is actually a target that goes further and always pursued as you reach it. It will always carry us forward and into the future. With Bayraktar KIZILELMA, we want our nation, which has lived free for centuries, to take its deserved place in the skies and in space by developing high technology with the vision of the National Technology Move. He knows that the conquests we need today are the conquest of hearts; We are talking about mercy, freedom and justice. Developing high technology is an indispensable rule in order to bring humanity together with these values. For this reason, the National Technology Move has a critical importance. Since we think that KIZILELMA will serve our nation and humanity, we decided on this name coming from the past of our ancient civilization. The world is watching the last manned combat aircraft with 5th generation fighters. Manned warplanes will no longer be developed. From now on, the most powerful elements of the battlefield will be unmanned systems. We are also working to make our country exist in the races of the future.”

FIRST ANNOUNCED ON JULY 20

Bayraktar KIZILELMA's conceptual design works were shared with the public for the first time on the first day of Eid al-Adha, on 20 July 2021, as a "Holiday Gift". Landing-take-off capability on short-runway ships was also announced for the first time on this date. After 8 months, Bayraktar KIZILELMA joined the integration line at the facilities located in Özdemir Bayraktar National UAV R&D and Production Campus.

LANDING AND TAKING off SHIPS WITH SHORT RUNWAYS

Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which will have the ability to land and take off on ships with short runways, such as TCG ANADOLU, which Turkey has built and is currently conducting cruise tests, will thus play an important role in overseas missions. With this ability, it will take an active role in the protection of the Blue Homeland.

AIR COMBAT WITH AGGRESSIVE MANEUVERS

Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which will be able to carry out air-air combat with aggressive maneuvers like manned warplanes, will change the balance on the battlefield with this feature, unlike unmanned aerial vehicles that have been developed with domestic and national means and have great repercussions in the world. With the experience gained from Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar AKINCI, the aircraft, which is being developed entirely by Turkish engineers and technicians, will provide effectiveness against air targets with domestic air-air ammunition.

LOW RADAR VISIBILITY

The feature of having a low radar cross section, which is considered as one of the most critical issues in the design processes of manned warplanes, was also taken into consideration in the design of Bayraktar KIZILELMA. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which will successfully perform the most challenging missions thanks to its low radar signature, is aimed to have a take-off weight of 6 tons. The aircraft, which will use all the munitions developed nationally by Turkish engineers, will be a great power multiplier with its planned 1500 kilograms useful load carrying capacity. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which is aimed to stay in the air for 500 hours with a 5 nm mission radius, will also have high situational awareness with the AESA radar to be integrated.

FIRST FLIGHT IN 2023

By developing Bayraktar AKINCI, BAYKAR succeeded in making Turkey one of the few countries capable of developing unmanned aerial vehicles in the offensive class, and aims to carry out the first flight test of Bayraktar KIZILELMA in 2023. Bayraktar AKINCI entered the integration line in TİHA in 2018 and successfully completed its first flight on 6 December 2019 a year later. AKINCI entered the inventory on 1.5 August 29, approximately 2021 years after its first flight, and started its operational duty. It is aimed to carry out a similar project process for Bayraktar KIZILELMA by the Baykar team led by Selçuk Bayraktar.
