Mado, one of the important brands that introduced Kahramanmaraş, which is famous for its ice cream, to the world, sells to more than 8 countries with its annual export of 40 million dollars. The Maraş based company, which started with ice cream and expanded its product range with desserts, cakes and bakery products, brings Turkish delicacies from Canada to China together with the world.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, together with the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, made inspections at Mado's new production facility, established on an area of ​​50 thousand square meters.

Noting that they want to develop Turkey with investment, production, employment and export, Minister Varank said, “If you want to exist in the world, you must create brands.” said. EU Ambassador Meyer-Landrut also stated that he had heard of Mado before and said, "But I did not know that it had such a large production capacity and production facility, and also that it had such a large export capacity."

2 EMPLOYMENT

Minister Varank visited Mado's new production complex during his visit to Kahramanmaraş. When the visit was to the ice cream and cake factory, colorful images emerged. Minister Varank, together with EU Ambassador Meyer-Landrut, cut ice cream, opened baklava and poured sherbet on baklava trays. Making evaluations after the visit hosted by Mado Chairman Mehmet Sait Kanbur, Varank said that nearly 2 people, mostly women, are employed at the facility.

100 TON DAILY MILK

Noting that 100 tons of milk is processed daily at the facility, Varank said, “Exports are made to more than 40 countries from here. Some products go ready-made, and some are sent abroad in frozen form. It is very valuable to have a facility that produces at European standards in Kahramanmaraş. It is very important to develop such a serious industry for goat milk.” said.

THE MODEL WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Turkey; Explaining that they want to develop it with investment, production, employment and export, Varank said, “Here is the model that Mado has achieved in Kahramanmaraş. In this sense, I really thank the investors and this family.” he said.

SOLD AT 900 BRANCHES

Noting that Mado products are sold in nearly 900 branches abroad, Varank said, “If you want to exist in the world, you must create brands. Of course, we are proud of Turkish Airlines and Getir as a country, but we do not consider them sufficient. We want to launch new brands, world-renowned brands in all areas of the industry, including the food industry. In this sense, Mado's model is also really successful.” said.

I DID NOT KNOW THE EXPORT CAPACITY

EU Ambassador Meyer-Landrut also stated that during his visit to Kahramanmaraş, he visited Altınşehir Jewelery Specialized Industrial Site, which was financed with EU funds, and then Mado's ice cream production facility. I didn't know it had such a large export capacity.” he said.

INDONESIA AND MALAYSIA ARE NEXT

Mado Chairman of the Board, Kanbur, said that in addition to ice cream, they send 20 kinds of food and 15 kinds of desserts prepared using traditional methods to many parts of the world. Expressing that they have serious investors in the Indonesian and Malaysian markets, Kanbur said, “We would have reached wider markets if it had not been for the pandemic. We want to introduce the power, effort and taste of the Turkish people to the world.” said.
