Natural Gas Aid Payments to Start in March

Our Minister of Family and Social Services, Derya Yanık, announced that applications for natural gas support will start in the second half of February, and payments will be made after the second week of March.

Minister Yanık gave information about the coal aid provided to the needy households, as well as the natural gas aid that has been implemented.

Reminding that fuel aid is already being given to citizens in need, Minister Yanık said, “We provide coal support to our households under the name of Fuel Aid. In 2021, we provided 1,8 billion TL of coal support to our 1,8 million households. Now, our citizens in need will be able to receive this heating aid as natural gas if they demand it.”

Noting that they have been working on the field for a long time to implement natural gas support, Minister Yanık said, “We are working on the field all over our country to determine the needs of our citizens on site. Natural gas support is one of them. The demands of the households that have natural gas infrastructure but benefit from coal support have reached us. We also worked on that. We have decided to provide heating aid not only with coal but also with natural gas.”

Providing information about the technical work of the natural gas support that will start in the coming months, Minister Yanık said:

“There are different climatic conditions in our country. As a result, heating support also needs to differ regionally. For this, we conducted heat measurement studies. We have realized a distribution in the right proportion with the technical and warm-up measures. We will provide heating support to our regions within the framework of this distribution scale.”

Stating that the technical work on natural gas support payments is about to be completed, Minister Yanık said, “Applications for natural gas support will start from the second half of February, and payments will start after the second week of March. We are about to complete our work in this direction,” he said.

Minister Yanık stated that households who want to benefit from natural gas support can apply to Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations via e-Government.
