ROKETSAN continues to adapt its advanced ammunition capabilities to different platforms and respond to wider needs. Finally, the test shots of the YALMAN Weapon Tower, which is expected to enter the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) inventory, were shared in the share made on the official Twitter account of the company.
YALMAN/KMC and FNSS KAPLAN-10 vehicle with integrated Electro Optic on mast were showcased in August 2020. YALMAN/KMC, which has 2 UMTAS and 4 CİRİT (in a pod) on it, was also exhibited at IDEF'21.
In the images shared by Roketsan, there are 3 vehicles with CİRİT and UMTAS missiles installed in different configurations. While only CİRİT missiles were loaded on one of the vehicles, only UMTAS/L-UMTAS missiles were loaded on one vehicle and CİRİT and L-UMTAS missiles were loaded on the other vehicle. In this way, the shooting capabilities of the turret in different configurations were demonstrated.
Recently, the Ministry of National Defense made a statement regarding the procurement of the YALMAN tower. In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was stated that shootings were carried out within the scope of the "Pedestal Mounted CİRİT Weapon System Project", which can fire UMTAS and CİRİT missiles. In a statement from the Ministry of National Defense,
“Within the scope of the “Pedestal-Mounted CİRİT Weapon System Project”, which was launched with the aim of providing additional capabilities to the anti-tank divisions and capable of firing UMTAS and CİRİT missiles, the targets determined in the inspection and acceptance firings carried out in Konya/Karapınar were successfully hit.”
