City Lines General Directorate is building sea cleaning boats at the Golden Horn shipyard for İSTAÇ, the environmental management subsidiary of IMM. IMM, which has increased its Marine Surface Cleaning Boat fleet to 14 with the newly built boats, will fight the pollution that occurs on the 5 million square meter coastline of Istanbul.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) manufactures domestic and national Marine Surface Cleaning Boats at Haliç City Lines Shipyard. Sea Surface Cleaning Each of the boats has a waste collection capacity of 7 cubic meters and provides fuel savings compared to existing boats. İSTAÇ has 11 Sea Surface Cleaning Boats and 2 Environmental Control Boats in its inventory. In addition to these, it plans to add 3 Sea Surface Cleaning Boats and 1 Environmental Control Boat to its fleet.
Existing Sea Surface Cleaning Boats owned by IMM have a mechanical belt system with strainer. It collects the wastes on the surface of the sea and collects them on the belt, thus clearing the seas from garbage.
While IMM is struggling with the pollution that occurs on the 5 million square meter coastal coastline in Istanbul with these boats, it also intervenes in the pollution that may occur in the creek mouths.
İSTAÇ 11, İSTAÇ 12 and İSTAÇ 13 boats, which are still in production at Haliç Şehir Hatları Shipyard, are planned to be put into service as of May 2022.
Newly produced boats will also struggle with mucilage. In the last examinations, it was seen that boats with cranes were very efficient in mucilage cleaning. For this reason, new boats to be built by City Lines were ordered with cranes. The boat directly discharges the mucilage it collects on the crane.
