Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) subsidiary KİPTAŞ determined the beneficiaries of Turkey's cheapest social housing project "Tuzla Aydınlık Evler", the foundation of which was laid on 13 December 2021, with a lottery held in the presence of a notary public. The drawing ceremony of the project, which will consist of 312 residences, 21 commercial areas and 1 kindergarten, was held by the President of IMM. Ekrem İmamoğluwith the participation of KIPTAS Headquarters building in Zeytinburnu. Sharing the information that there were nearly 343 thousand applications to the project, which consists of 160 independent units in total, with a record participation, İmamoğlu underlined that this situation stemmed from the trust of citizens in IMM.
İMAMOĞLU: WE DO EVERY BUSINESS IN FRONT OF PEOPLE'S EYES
İmamoğlu explained the reasons for trusting them, “We are transparent. Everything we do, we do in front of people. There is no emotion, no action in its background. KİPTAŞ is the company and institution of 16 million people and acts with the feeling of 'what can we produce for 16 million people'. He spends his resources on the good reconstruction of this city and on people owning property with the right housing model. CALLS COOPERATION TO PROPERTY OWNERS
Emphasizing that their aim is to produce social housing for citizens at the most affordable prices in Turkey, İmamoğlu said, “We also call on all property owners who want to cooperate with us in this sense. We produce safe projects. We produce the right business. The door of KİPTAŞ is open to every person and institution who only thinks about making good use of their land. Our concern and our view of the process is to bring the healthiest, highest quality and maximum value-producing projects to Istanbul. Let them come. Let them share their processes with us. We are an institution ready to produce as much social housing as Istanbul needs.” Reminding that there are obstacles in front of them in this sense, İmamoğlu said, “We know that even the zoned land of KİPTAŞ -I explained how they bought it- turned it into a green area by using the majority in the Assembly -which our legal struggle continues. Even our own land, by paying the money in their own time, giving it to the institution (there is even a model at the entrance of our KIPTAŞ building), turning that land into a green area… Why? This institution should not do business there.”
“LET US SUPPORT US, NOT BADGE IT”
Pointing out that millions of liras were made to some people by paying high amounts of money in this way, İmamoğlu reminded that the file they were investigating within the institution was confiscated by the Ministry of Interior. “In this sense, despite all these difficulties, we produce both land and housing,” said İmamoğlu.
“For this reason, I invite institutions and organizations. We invite 39 district municipalities to cooperate with us with the feeling of being a part of the process of KİPTAŞ, the reliable subsidiary of İBB. Let them support us, not hinder us. Wherever I go, I invite the mayor of that county. Wherever I go, I invite you to the groundbreaking ceremony. Wherever I go, I invite the mayor of that district to the opening ceremony or the key-handling ceremony. Why? The mayor of the district there is also a mayor elected by the vote of the people, and I am the Mayor of the Metropolitan, elected by the vote of the people. We will produce respect for each other, together we will produce jobs for our people. In this regard, I invite our 39 district municipalities to cooperate with us in producing this work. Then, we will all be in a position that is more prestigious in the eyes of the citizens and can meet the citizens in a more meaningful way in the next election. In this respect, I feel that our mayors, who are trying to sue, prevent, and produce special lawsuits against some of our processes, are caught in the political turbulence that is being created against us, myself and our administration. Let them quit. That turbulence will hurt them. Those caught in that turbulence should believe that in the next election, they will not even be able to appear before the citizens and ask for votes. Let them produce work. Let them be with the job creator. Let them oppose what we do not produce. These people, these people, know very well which mayors they are. I call them from here: They should make a special effort to generate business with us.”
“WE WILL MAKE 16 MILLION PEOPLE OF THIS CITY HAPPY”

KURT: “WE ARE ONE OF THE MOST AUDITED COMPANIES”
Emphasizing that the record participation in the project reveals the need for social housing of the people, Kurt said, “These figures put us, as KİPTAŞ, a great responsibility in these days, where it is getting harder for our low-income citizens to become homeowners, whose income level is decreasing day by day.” Noting that unlike the previous period, they are trying to block them with the obstacles against KİPTAŞ under the new İBB administration, Kurt said, “All our projects we have done in the new period have title deeds. All of them are projects that comply with the legislation and are licensed. Contrary to the manipulation, we do not have any illegal projects. We are perhaps one of the most audited companies in Turkey. It is out of the question for us to do the opposite. Instead of blocking the projects that hundreds of thousands of people hope for, we expect some sectors to take these projects as an example and become stakeholders. In particular, by hiring the lawyers of certain foundations, I would like to warn those who attacked us within the framework of the law. We will properly defend all of our projects within the framework of the law. I would like to inform you that we will be sharing the manipulative actions against us here with the public in the near future, with their information and documents.”
