Creating a New Caravan Area in Gaziantep

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality accelerated its efforts to create a new caravan area due to the interest in the area it created for the development of caravan tourism. The new trailer parking area, which is under construction and arrangements, will be ready in the new season.

Taking action for caravan tourism, which is one of the new trends in tourism with the Kovid-19 Epidemic, the Metropolitan Municipality is planning a new caravan area with 10 caravan capacity in an area of 35 thousand square meters in addition to the existing caravan park in Alleben Pond.

Terracing and infrastructure works have been completed in the area divided into 5 sections so that the caravans dominate the water and the view. The campsite, which is planned to be opened in the new season, will have services such as free internet service and cafeteria. When the work is completed, cooperation with the National Camping and Caravan Federation will ensure the region's participation in the caravan networks.

ŞAHİN: THE AREA HAS A VERY SPECIAL VIEW THAT SHOWS WHAT GREEN GAZİANTEP MEANS

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, who examined the works carried out on-site with her technical team, stated that they held a workshop on tourism diversity during the pandemic period and said, “In this study, experts said that canyon and caravan tourism, harvesting, experience, nature and naturalness will become much more important in the tourism sector after the pandemic. Thus, we determined the new attraction areas in the city. When we look at caravan tourism, there was no infrastructure for caravan tourism on the Adıyaman - Mersin line. We quickly organized the opposite side of the pond. When we saw the demand, we did the second part of the work with our federation president and colleagues. Currently, the infrastructure and superstructure of caravan tourism, internet services by phone, are provided, where 35 caravans will come and receive service at the same time. Apart from these, they will be able to sit with the view of Alleben Pond. This place has a very special view that shows what water, green, 'Green Gaziantep' means.” used the phrases.

THANKS TO FUTURE TOURISTS, IT WILL MAKE A GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO THE CITY ECONOMY

Mayor Fatma Şahin expressed that the correctness of the area chosen for caravan tourism with the Vadi Alleben Project was once again seen, and said:

“The seasonal demands are very high. Therefore, with this diversification, more people will come and when they come here, they will go to the city to shop, visit our museums and historical places, see our works and taste our delicacies. Thanks to the tourists coming, a great contribution will be made to the city's economy. Not to mention the caravan. An infrastructure is being created where tourists will stay for 1 week when they arrive. We have succeeded in a spatial planning that is modern, has a strong infrastructure, and has a very good visual.”
