What Will the 2022 Minimum Wage Be? Second Round of Minimum Wage Negotiations Started

Negotiations for the minimum wage, which concern millions, have begun. While wondering how much the minimum wage will be in 2022, the second round of the minimum wage negotiations has been reached. Promising news continues to come before the meetings to be held on 7 and 9 December. The expectation for an increase in the minimum wage for 2022 salaries has exceeded 30 percent.

The second round of negotiations for the minimum wage increase will be held on Tuesday, December 7, hosted by Türk-İş. November inflation and the 5-month inflation rate of 10.48 percent between July and November also affected the minimum wage negotiations. Regarding the issue, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements before his visit to Qatar. President Erdoğan said, “They will reach a conclusion by meeting the Minister and his delegation. Let's see what the parties' offers are. We will definitely not put our workers in any trouble at this point. Hopefully, we will make the final decision on the most ideal one at the minimum wage point. The employer should be happy with the decision taken. We will make a decision considering all these," he said.

When the welfare share is added to the minimum wage increase, which is expected to be higher than inflation, the rate is expected to exceed 30 percent. With the tax support, this figure can increase even more.

Türk-İş union expects a rise above the 36.2 percent revaluation rate, but in case this rate is realized.
net salaries will rise to approximately 3.850 liras.
