With its Bahrain Airport project, TAV İnşaat was deemed worthy of the "Mega Project of the Year" and "Transportation Project of the Year" awards at the ceremony organized by MEED, one of the respected publications of the sector, where the outstanding projects of the year in each sector were awarded.
TAV Construction, which ranks first in the world in the airport construction sector, was awarded in two categories at the ceremony organized by the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) for the project involving the new terminal building of Bahrain International Airport and its related works.
TAV Construction General Manager Ümit Kazak said, “Airports are projects that require special expertise, work in harmony with dozens of different systems, meet global standards, and have no margin for error. In the past period, we have achieved a significant acceleration of success, especially in the Gulf Region. As TAV İnşaat, we built the capital airports of five countries and Medina Airport, the second most important city in the Islamic world. We are happy to be awarded in two important categories this year with the airport project, which is one of the most important steps in Bahrain's modernization move.”
Within the scope of the Bahrain Airport project, TAV Construction carried out the construction of the new terminal building, the rehabilitation of the apron-taxiway, the central service complex and the multi-storey car park with a capacity of 3500 vehicles. With the renovation, the annual passenger capacity of the new terminal building, which has an area of 219.000 m2, has increased to 13,5 million.
TAV Construction was deemed worthy of the “transportation project of the year” award by MEED for its Hamad, Medina and Riyadh airport projects in 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively.
