Mazda, one of the world's leading automobile manufacturers, has increased its production capability with the innovations it has realized in Japan's Hofu Factory. Thanks to the improvements made in the H2 production line, the Japanese manufacturer; It will be able to produce different models of cars and engine types on the same serial production line at the same time. The flexible modeling production line, which is a part of the brand's versatile solution strategy, which can adapt quickly to instant needs within a few days, will also host a series of SUV models that will come to light in 2022.

Japanese automotive giant Mazda has announced that it has made extensive changes in its H6 production line, where Mazda5 and Mazda CX-2 models are already produced, in order to reach the capacity to produce a wide product range that will also have electric powertrains. This advanced production modeling, which can respond quickly to new models and changing demands, is called the latest example of Mazda's innovative approach to innovation, which it calls Monotsukuri.

Production line can be shaped according to need

As a result of the developments, which are an important part of Mazda's versatile solution strategy, the production line can be shaped according to changing needs. In this way, cars with large or small platforms, with internal combustion or electric engines, with transverse or longitudinal engine placement will be produced on the same line. The forward-looking mixed production philosophy will also give life to the SUV models that will be introduced in 2022.

More than half of the facility was designed according to the flexibility strategy

The cross dolly tape modeling is at the heart of the reworked production line. Fixed conveyor belts and hangers are not included in the new structure and the line is physically liberated. Instead of fixed belts and hangers, pallets that are flush with the ground are placed and these pallets move by means of "dolly rollers". This production line, which can be shaped much faster than the fixed production line, can be expanded in the future by adding more sections. Expressing that employees have a more free space thanks to the easily moving tracked structure, Mazda Motor Corporation Senior General Manager Takeshi Mukai states that more than half of the Hofu Factory is built according to the new strategy. This strategy, which reduces investment costs by 10 percent, takes one-fifth the time of developing a traditional assembly line.
