Rescue drill was held in Akdağ Winter Sports and Ski Center in Ladik district of Samsun with the participation of the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department. The tourists, who were stuck in the chairlift, were rescued with a successful operation in the exercise, which was held before the season started and did not look like the real thing.

Akdag Winter Sports and Ski Center, which is one of the important addresses of Turkey in winter tourism, hosts thousands of ski lovers every year. The center, which is the most modern facility in the region at an altitude of 1900, continues to attract the attention of local and foreign tourists with its many sportive advantages such as mountaineering, grass skiing, sledding, ATV safari, paragliding, and plateau festivals. Local tourists from Amasya, Çorum, Tokat, Sinop and Ordu show the greatest interest in the ski resort, which is 80 km from Samsun and 7 km from the district.

The density in Akdağ, which has become the meeting point of nature photographers and adrenaline enthusiasts with its accommodation facilities and cafeterias, is increasing day by day. The ski center, which has 1675 tracks, the largest of which is 6 meters long, has a chair lift of 1500 meters. Tourists, who can reach the summit in 16 minutes with 84 masts and 10-seat chairlifts, enjoy the insatiable view.

A rescue exercise was held at the request of the Ladik District Governor's Office so that the tourists would not be stuck in the chairlift. 6 from the Fire Brigade Department, 8 from the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), 4 from the UMKE team of the Provincial Health Directorate, 112 from the 3 team, 7 from the Türk Telekom Regional Directorate Search and Rescue Team ( TAKE) 6 and 34 from Akdağ Ski and Tourism Management Directorate, a total of XNUMX expert personnel attended.

Acting on the information that two people were trapped in the chairlift due to a technical malfunction as per the exercise scenario, the teams took action and sent the search and rescue teams to the region. Arriving at the scene in a short time, the teams took the safety precaution and went to the chairlift. Reaching the stranded tourists, they were lowered safely. Those rescued in the breathtaking exercise were brought to the facility with snowmobiles.

Evaluating the successfully completed exercise, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Head Rıza Zengin thanked all institutions and personnel who participated in the rescue drill.
