With the vertical and horizontal steering of the truck, ADA is able to automatically maintain the distance to the vehicle in front as well as actively assist the driver under certain conditions. Apart from being able to accelerate the truck, this system can also steer when necessary system conditions are met, such as sufficient turning angle or clearly visible lane lines. With Active Brake Assist 5, much more advanced protection is provided for pedestrians. The system can apply maximum braking to avoid hitting the moving pedestrians. Thanks to the MirrorCam equipment offered instead of the exterior mirrors in the Actros, the exterior mirrors of a truck were also removed for the first time.

The fourth launch of the Actros has been applied to the driver's workplace. The main color screen behind the steering wheel and the secondary touchscreen display form the multimedia cockpit of the New Actros. Since June 2021, the second generation Active Driving Assistant (ADA 2) has been offered as optional equipment on the latest generation Actros. The Emergency Brake Assistant, which is included as a sub-feature of this equipment, can apply the emergency brake when the driver does not interfere with the steering despite visual and audible warnings. Active Sideguard Assist, the improved turn assistance system offered on the Actros since June 2021, can now not only warn the driver of pedestrians or cyclists in motion on the front passenger side, but also automatically apply the brakes on turns up to 20 km/h to stop the vehicle if the driver does not respond. .
