Technology giant Mitsubishi Electric participated in the 2nd International Digital Industry Applications and Digital Transformation Management Symposium 2021 organized by Innopark Konya Technology Development Zone. Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation Systems Product Management and Marketing Unit Manager Tolga Bizel, who made a presentation titled 'Digital Transformation of Factories and Advanced Robot Technologies' at the online symposium, conveyed important information to industry professionals about the Industry 4.0 transformation. The presentation, in which the details of the project with the theme of digital transformation in production carried out by Mitsubishi Electric around the world, were explained, attracted great attention from the participants.

eF@ctory provides flexible production lines against changing consumer reflexes
In his presentation, Tolga Bizel stated that the conventional methods in production lines are left behind; “Today, robots take over most of the work that humans do. One of the main reasons for this change is the change in our purchasing habits as consumers. Especially during the pandemic process, this change gained a much greater speed. Instead of visiting shop windows for hours, we are now shopping on online platforms. Now, we change our decisions very quickly and flexibly, and we want the product we buy to reach us very quickly. We, as Mitsubishi Electric, have been using the solution to respond to this change in our own factories since 2003. Our eF@ctory concept enables all existing objects in factories to interact with each other and be mapped in real time. There are many analytical and artificial intelligence infrastructures on the basis of this concept. There is a physical production line inside the relevant factory, and a simulation running one-on-one and in real time on a virtual portal. There are robots, sensors, panels, PLCs, hybrid cobots and many other technologies that we produce on the physical production line. On the virtual portal, there is a flexible factory that can adapt in real time according to the changes that the consumer goes through in his life cycle. This factory integration, which includes artificial intelligence technologies, can gain a flexible form according to the changing expectations and purchasing reflexes of consumers.
Devices at home will be able to communicate with each other thanks to IoT
Tolga Bizel said that each device inside the factories makes unique sounds and when these are interpreted, they contribute to the flexibility in the factories; “We at Mitsubishi Electric use a sound analysis program that evaluates and reports vibrations from equipment in factories. In this way, we make the product-life cycle flexible with artificial intelligence in the new industrial age. This data, which we obtain with artificial intelligence technologies, offers the freedom to understand the consumer for different fields of activity. For example, the washing machines we use in our homes will now be able to communicate with users and decide on their own how to use them. In fact, thanks to this technology, IoT will be able to communicate with the washing machine of the upstairs neighbor without a human being in between and share their experiences.”
