Izmir Metropolitan Municipality established a Soup Stop at five points for university students to start the day with hot soup. Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, “We are not content with my student friends going to class without having breakfast in the morning. This year, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure that students can continue their education life in a comfortable and healthy way.”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues the soup stop tradition this year to support university students. After the break due to the pandemic, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality created a Soup Stop at five points to serve soup to university students. Soup Stops, established at Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) Faculty of Education, DEU Faculty of Theology, DEU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Katip Çelebi University and Bornova Metro station near the Ege University Campus, will serve between 07.30 and 09.00 on weekdays.
Soyer: “Young people are our future”

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Soup Houses Branch Manager Ebru Asal said, “Our soup distribution service has been going on since 2011. We've increased the soup distribution point from four to five. We are here for university students to say hello to the day with a hot soup in the morning. We serve homemade soup. In 2019, we distributed soup to 80 people. We want to serve more students this year. Enjoy our students," he said.
Soups prepared in a hygienic environment at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Soup House are offered to students with fresh bread.
